READINGS FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15
TODAY'S READINGS First Reading -- The vineyard of the LORD is the house of Israel (Isaiah 5:1-7).
Psalm -- The vineyard of the Lord is the house of Israel (Psalm 80).
Second Reading -- God's peace will guard your hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6-9).
Gospel -- The kingdom of God will be given to those who will produce its fruit (Matthew 21:33-43)
First Reading -- On this mountain the LORD will make for all peoples a feast of rich food and choice wines (Isaiah 25:6-10a).
Psalm -- I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life (Psalm 23).
Second Reading -- God will supply whatever you need (Philippians 4:12-14, 19-20).
Gospel -- I have prepared my banquet, and everything is ready. Come to the feast! (Matthew 22:1-14 [1-10]).
THE HEAVENLY BANQUET
The mountain of the Lord described in today's first reading is a place where there is no more hunger, no more weeping, and no more division of any kind. We need to pause and ponder these images every now and then, especially given the fact that we live in such a fractured world. The respon-sorial psalm continues to paint a picture of a place where only goodness and kindness flourish. These readings de-scribe the heavenly banquet, to which God calls each of us through baptism and continues to call us throughout our lives. Let us "RSVP" to God's invitation and live our lives consistent with gospel values so that one day we will be welcomed to the table of the kingdom. Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
GOD'S GOODNESS
Let us throw ourselves into the ocean of God's goodness, where every failing will be cancelled and anxiety turned into love. --St. Paul of the Cross
Please pray for those who have died, members of our family and
friends and in particular: Rita Boeta
John J. Cahill, Jr. Leonard Pokalsky
Christopher Ward, Sr.
Welcome a “Special Guest” to Your Home
Please consider having the Blessed Mother as a guest in your home. The presence of Mary in your home adds so much to your daily life. To sched-ule a date when your family will be able to welcome Our Lady into your home, call Dolores at 215-945-0653.
BABY BOTTLE DRIVE STEWARDSHIP
“The stone the builders rejected has become the corner stone…” - MATTHEW 21:42
Jesus was the corner stone and He was rejected by the reli-gious and political leaders of his day, as well as ordinary citizens. Living a stewardship lifestyle may cause you to be “rejected” by others in today’s society. For example, saying grace before a meal in a restaurant may attract some strange looks from some. But to others it is sign that God is alive and well!

FAITH FORMATION
Cross-Train Your Faith: This week we continue with the eighth session of “The Divine Mercy – The Second Greatest Story Ever Told.”
Over the past few sessions, we covered the historical tapes-try of God’s mercy, an interweaving of the events at Fatima, the life of St. Faustina Kowalska, the attempted assassina-tion of Pope John Paul II, the sacrifices and suffering of the nation of Poland, and so much more. Now, we’ll look more closely at John Paul’s pivotal role in international events that once again show us God’s amazing mercy at work.
We will see again how the setbacks and accomplishments of the past 100 years have brought clarity and fulfillment to the prophetic message of Fatima. Among the many lessons for us to learn, we can see how the people of God have played key roles in fulfilling the purposes of God.
Cross Train Your Faith meets every Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM and at 7:00 PM in the evening in the Queen of the Universe Parish Center. There is no cost to join us. No registration is required. Just show up. We have a great schedule of programs through the end of May, 2018. Pick up a trifold schedule at one of the church doors.
“Cross Train Your Faith” is part of the Queen of the Uni-verse Adult Faith Formation Program to provide programs of study, and present information of Catholic learning, for the adults of Our Parish Family. For more information con-tact Andy Pastorek at 215-943-2469 or by e-mail at [email protected].
We are inviting Queen’s parishion-ers to each session on Thursday eve-ning. If you would like to join us and be in an atmosphere with other parish-ioners participating in the Formed pro-gram or you would just like to refresh
your faith, please consider joining us on Thursday!
Come to the RCIA session on any Thursday. We meet in the Parish Center at 7:00 p.m. We will be happy to have you with us!
