FORMED.ORG: The “"pick of the week" is Stations of the Cross by St. Alphonus Liouri. The Augustine Institute presents a beautiful meditation on the Stations of the Cross by Saint Alphonsus Liguori, narrated by Dr. Christopher Blum. This prayerful reflection is accompanied by the Schola Cantorum of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Littleton, CO, chanting the traditional Catholic hymn Stabat Mater, in Latin, which depicts the loving presence of Our Sorrowful Mother, sharing in the suffering of Christ at the foot of the cross. Take advantage of this audio on your commute at home, or anywhere you find the time, to enrich your prayer during Lent or throughout the year, and better unite yourself to the Passion of Christ. Pastor’s Corner
On behalf of all the staff and parishioners of
Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish,
I wish to extend a warm welcome to all who are
joining us to celebrate Easter.
We are so happy that you are able to be with us today.
We welcome especially any first-time
visitors and out of town guests.
May the graces of the Easter Season, bless you
and your loved ones throughout the year.
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! Happy Easter! He is risen!
The whole Church rejoices as we celebrate the most
hope-filled truth of our Christian faith. God so loved the
world that he sent his only begotten Son to save us from the
eternal consequence of sin. Jesus, the Word of God made
flesh, through His saving sacrifice on the Cross has reconciled
humanity to God. In rising from the dead, Jesus became the
principle and source of our own future resurrection. Through
the Easter miracle we are confident that, not only our souls
can be saved, but our bodies too can have eternal life in the
resurrection of the dead.
At the Easter Vigil, the first celebration of Easter that
occurs during the night, we heard these words proclaimed:
“Exult, let them exult, the hosts of heaven, exult…
Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her…
Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice…
Our birth would have been no gain, had we not been
redeemed.
O wonder of your humble care for us!
O love, O charity beyond all telling,
to ransom a slave, you gave away your Son!
O truly necessary sin of Adam, destroyed completely
by the Death of Christ!
O happy fault that earned so great, so glorious a
Redeemer!”
Easter, and the holy days that preceded it, should
reassure each of us of the blessing we have in Christ Jesus.
How precious you are in God’s eyes. Yes, you, sinner though
you are! “While we were still sinners Christ died for us,”
(Rom 5:8). Without the truth of Jesus’ saving death and
resurrection, life has no real meaning. What hope would we
have of anything beyond the grave was it not for God’s love
revealed in Jesus Christ, the One who overcame death by
rising from the grave? Even man’s rebellion against his
creator, expressed in the “original sin” of our first parents, has,
by the mystery of God’s love, earned for us “so great, so
glorious a Redeemer.”
Pope Francis has encouraged all believers to share the joy
of the Gospel and to live as missionary disciples, exuding
hope as we accompany one another on the pilgrimage of
life. I encourage each of you to pray for the graces to live
as children of the Resurrection. Easter reaffirms the price
that God was willing to pay for our salvation - “To ransom a
slave [that’s us], God gave away his Son.” Awareness of this
truth should empower us to live with great joy and hope.
Happy Easter!
Sincerely yours in Christ Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the
Life,
p.s. If you are not registered as a member of Queen of the
Holy Rosary – Wea Catholic Parish, I invite you to formally

Easter Sunday “Stewardship Moment: A Disciple’s Response”
One of the recommended Responsorial Psalms on this glori-ous Easter Sunday is Psalm 118, including this from verse 24: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.” In truth Easter is all about rejoicing. It is the day of Resurrection which provides hope to all of us. Throughout our diocese thousands of people are at Mass today who may not normally attend. That is another reason for us to rejoice and say “Welcome home.” We are glad to have so many members of our spiritual family around the Lord’s table; we miss you and love you. Christ’s love for us is at the foundation of our Easter celebra-tion. St. Augustine once wrote, “God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” Stewardship is the appropriate response to this Di-vine love. Good stewards see the world through the lens of gratitude and recognizes that all we have is a gift from God. All our talents, all our strengths and all our blessings come from the providence of God’s loving hand. Even our trials in life, when submitted to God’s merciful love, can bring about greater spiritual good. We are capable of loving because we were first loved into being by God. In this season of celebration, let us respond by offering back to God our time, talent and treasure in a spirit of gratitude. Happy Easter!

Marriage Minute “Let Easter impact your marriage!” After the sacrifice of Lent and the gloom of Holy Week, we can sometimes arrive at Easter like someone who has finished a dreaded chore, and we resume regularly-scheduled life. However, if this is our approach, we miss the gift Easter can be for our marriages. The first message of the Resurrection is “Don’t be afraid!” This phrase is proclaimed to all who approach the empty tomb, and to us as married people as well. We should not be afraid: • … of serious illness, financial or relationship problems. He has conquered even death, so He can bring good out of any evil we face. • … of facing our own or our spouse’s sin. He loved his disciples after they abandoned him - He can help us love each other with that same love. For more practical suggestions, go to www.JoyfulMarriageProject.com
