Dear Students & Faculty Members, It is a matter of great happiness that first quarterly issue of VGEC News, 2019 is
brought to you. We are towards the end of the current academic term. It is the
time of year when we find ourselves saying goodbye to our final year students. I
am really happy to note that some of them are getting good placements this
year in some of the most nationally and internationally acclaimed enterprises,
while some have planned for further studies. I, on behalf of VGEC would like to
congratulate all our final year students and wish them great and successful
future. For developing a common platform to showcase, support and upscale
innovative ideas of young students, we have organized SSIP Conclave.
Students have participated enthusiastically and shown their innovative
approaches for problem solving. I feel immense pleasure to showcase the talent
of our institute‟s students and faculties to industry and other eminent
personalities.

Conclave on Mentoring Innovative Projects - VishwaNavDhara
Vishwakarma government engineering college organized one day programme of “Conclave on Mentoring Innovative Engineering projects 2019 & Exhibition” on 16/03/2019 in presence of our honorable guests Smt. Avantika Singh (Commissionerate of Technical Education), Dr. N.M.Desai (ISRO), Dr. S.Mukharjee (Directore, IPR) and Dr. Ramnath N. Prasad (Directore, CED). Student projects selected in last year conclave showcased their projects in exhibition with the proto type and new innovative idea of projects were also finalized for the year 2019. From the projects registered in SSIP in year 2018, 6 projects were awarded in various categories like hardware, software, multidiciplinary and female team leader. Total new 30 concepts were selected which can be cultivated into new proto types under Proof of Concepts (PoC) head, Student Startup & Innovation Policy (SSIP). We invited 16 industrial expert for the evaluation and mentoring support. We introduce a documentary journey of our last year projects as “VishwaNavDhara” which has all the details of our SSIP projets. The conclave was coordinated by Dr. Femina Patel under the leadership of Principal Dr R K Gajjar.

Achievement at Smart India Hackathon 2019
The final round of SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2019, an initiative by Ministry of HRD and AICTE, was hosted at Nodal Centre, Hubli, Karnataka on 2nd and 3rd March 2019. A team „Empty Name‟ - consisting of 6 members (Priyal Patel, Shruti Patel, Parth Pansuriya, Dishang Patel, Nisarg Chokshi, Bhavik Parmar of 4th semester Information technology Department, Vishwakarma Govt Engi College, under the guidance of Prof Safvan A Vahora (Assistant Professor, Info .Tech Dept, VGEC) worked on the problem of Samsung R& D in Software Edition. They worked on the problem titled “Human Activity Recognition using Event based DVS sensor for home IOT applications”. Team stood first runner up in this problem of Samsung R & D.
Training program on “Finding the leader in You-(FLY)”
Competitiveness Mindset is a study, to boost India‟s growth and inclusive job creation by identifying systemic
issues that affect nation's competitiveness mindset. According to this study, the most important
characteristics in a leader today as flexibility (ability to change), open-mindedness and curiosity. To boost
leadership and competitiveness qualities in students, our college has organized “Finding Leader in You”
event in association with Competitive Mindset Initiatives and Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar. By
attending 12 hrs training, Students can develop leadership in own and ready to take challenges not only in
the area of technology but well equipped to face social ecological filed also. To get competiveness they are
utilizing five pillars of training objective i.e. Innovativeness, consciousness, perseverance, taking initiative and
problem solving skill. The upmost outcome is students will enhance their non cognitive skill which will
developed leadership in them. 23 Students have attended this program.

TEDxVGEC
VGEC conducted an internationally licensed TED event TEDxVGEC at the VGEC campus on 28th February 2019. Dr. Chirag Patel, Associate Professor, IT and Prof. Harshal Wani, Assistant professor, PE coordinated the event along with the student team lead by Keshav Acharya. The event was attended by 100 participants.TED is a non-profit and non-partisan organization devoted to “IDEAS WORTH SPREADING”. The main theme of TEDxVGEC was “CONNECTING THE DOTS”; which was achieved by inviting 8 fabulous speakers from various fields to satisfy all the curiosities of all kinds of audience. The 1st speaker of the event was Mr. Arun Kumar Bajaj, the world‟s only sewing machine artist. Next came a USA-based psychotherapist and a life skill expert,the founder of organizations like A Flourishing Me, Work Skills Expert and Life Skills Expert, Dr. Aparna Balasundaram. The 3rd speaker, the renowned gynecologist Dr. Mukesh Bavishi delivered a powerful speech on his experiences as a doctor and what instigates him to always do more and help people. The 4th speaker was Ms. Pooja Chaurushi,7 times national triathlon champion, popularly known as „The Golden Girl‟. Jay Vasavada, a writer, an orator and a columnist, whose columns are regularly published in one of the leading newspapers of Gujarat was the 5th speaker of the event. The 6th speaker of the event was Shri Praveen Kumar Gorakavi, an innovator and a multidisciplinary researcher. The next speaker was the famous radio jockey of 94.3 MY FM, RJ Archana Jani. The last speaker of the event was Mr. Anand Bhatnagar, Assistant Vice- President of Reliance.

Plethora of Activities- VGEC-NSS
National Voter's day Celebration In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has
decided to celebrate January 25 every year as "National Voters' Day" (Hindi: राष्ट्रीय मतदाता ददवस). It has
been started from January 25, 2011 to mark Commission's foundation day. Election commission invited VGEC-NSS for a part on state National Voters‟ Day celebration at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. Our 30 volunteer actively parted this celebration. Gujarat state Governor honourable O. P. Kohli Sir was the chief guest of this function.
GTU Convocation 2018-19 On occasion of 8th convocation of Gujarat Technological University dated 31st January, 2019 volunteers of NSS-VGEC were invited by GTU at Mahatma Mandir to be a part of this function for volunteering. The function was about felicitating young achievers of GTU who completed their graduation. In this function 55 volunteers of NSS VGEC actively participated and helped GTU for the Convocation. This ceremony was a motivation for 55 volunteers to make our nation proud as successful Engineers..
Bookmark Making Competition During 4th to 9th February 2019 online as well as offline Bookmark making Competition was organized by NSS VGEC. In which around 30 entries were came. Amazing bookmarks were made by the students of Vishawakarma Government Engineering College. Winner of this Competition was felicitate with the our National Emblem.

Blood Donation Camp at RajBhavan, Gandhinagar On the occasion of the birthday celebration of Smt. Avinash Kholi Ji Blood donation camp was organized at RajBhavan on 2nd February, 2019. NSS VGEC volunteers were invited to take part in blood donation camp. In the Camp 25 Volunteers along with NSS Program Officer - Prof. Alpesh Dafda of NSS VGEC actively participated.
Road safety week India is celebrating 30th road safety week in year 2019. VGEC-NSS has celebrated Road safety week from 3rd to 9th February, 2019. A Seminar was organized on road safety by NSS VGEC. In this event Information on road safety was given by Traffic inspector. He gave information about our duties to make our country safer. In this seminar, 100 students of VGEC participated enthusiastically. At the end all student took the pledge to follow their duties toward their Nation. In the seminar, Principal of VGEC Dr. Rajul Gajjar also inspired the students. She said, “Especially as youth, it‟s our duty to make our country safer for senior citizen, children and women of our country.”

Youth parliament live screening On 26th February 2019 National Youth Parliament was held at Delhi. Live screening was organized at F-204 in Vishwakarma Government Engineering College. More than 30 students were present there and had been part of this parliament digitally.
EVM Demonstration Election commission in coordination with NSS VGEC demonstrated the voting process through EVM machine to the first-time young voters of 1st and 2nd year VGEC students at M block. The aim of this demonstration was to aware the value of our pure vote and to assure the function of EVM machine. Thus, this demonstration provided young first-time voters about how to give their valuable vote as a responsible citizen of the country by trusting the EVM machine and impartial work of election commission.
Epidemiology workshop On 28th February 2019 Epidemiology Workshop was organized at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College by NSS VGEC. In which first of all question paper was given to the students to check their knowledge regarding health. According to that information was given by experts regarding healthy life style. As well as information regarding what when and how to eat was also given. At the and Once again question paper was given to the student to survey about students after attending this workshop.

FDP on “Research Opportunities in VLSI & Signal Processing”
EC Department of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Chandkheda has organized ISTE-GTU Sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Research Opportunities in VLSI and Signal Processing” from 11th February to 16th February, 2019. Dr R.A.Thakker was coordinator and Dr M.S.Shah was co-coordinator of this FDP.More than 40 participants including PG students have participated in this training program. The objective of this FDP is to aware faculty members with recent developments and research opportunities in VLSI and Signal Processing. Experts from IIT – Gandhi agar, DAIICT, Nirma University and VGEC - Chandkheda have shared their knowledge and research work with participants. Hand-on-sessions with the support of experts from Industry were also arranged to provide exposure of latest computer simulation tools to the participants. It will help participants to decide their topic of research work in further study.
FDP on Multi-Objective Optimization: Theory and Applications
ISTE-GTU Sponsored One Week Faculty Development Program on “Multi-Objective Optimization: Theory and Applications” was organised on 11th-16thFebruary, 2019 by Chemical Engineering Department. iThe FDP was organized with a view to acquaint the faculty and research scholars with this growing area of optimization. It is aimed to give exposure of MOO techniques and applications along with hands on sessions for formulation and solutions of MOO design problems. It is also aimed to provide information on some advanced MOO algorithms along with a few case studies. Computer laboratory training and demonstrations will be given to the participants to gain experience in this area. Total 32 faculties from various engineering institute of the state attended this FDP.
FDP on “Recent Trends in CAD/ CAM”
Mechanical Department successfully organized AICTE-GTU Sponsored One Week Faculty Development Program on “RECENT TRENDS IN CAD/ CAM” during 25th-29thMarch, 2019. Total 41 faculties from various Engineering Colleges has participated in this program.The objective of this program was to aims to enhance knowledge and skills of participants in the area of CAD / CAM to highlight the research being

carried out and promote further research in these areas. Inaugration session was graced by the auspicious presence of Prof. S. P. Sapre, I/C Principal, VGEC Chandkheda, Dr.Dinesh Rathod, Thapar university- Punjab, Dr. Vijay Gautam, DTU – Delhi and Dr. A. B. Dhruv, HOD-ME, VGEC Chandkheda. In this five days training sessions were conducted by the eminent speakers from various academic institutions and hands on session was conducted by the experts from Fusion 360.
National Seminar on “Application of Geo-synthetics for Infrastructure Development”
IGS student chapter at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Ahmedabad was inaugurated under Indian Geotechnical Society-Ahmedabad chapter on 2nd January, 2019. The one day national seminar on “Application of Geosynthetics for Infrastructure Development” was also organized at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC) where the lectures were delivered by Prof. G. Venkatappa Rao, Prof. M. Venkataraman and Prof. Amit Prashant from IIT Gandhinagar and Shri Saurabh Vyas from TechFab India Industries Ltd. On this occasion, Dr. R. K. Gajjar, Principal VGEC was the Petron of the event and presided over the function and welcomed the gathering with her motivational inspiring words. Dr. Navin R. Sheth, VC, GTU presided as the chief guest. All the faculty members of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics Department of VGEC along with 69 IGS student members (UG and PG) and 40 faculty participants from various other institutes of Gujarat attended the program and enriched their knowledge.
FDP on “Student Induction Program”
Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Chandkheda in association with AICTE in the guidance of Director of Technical Education Gandhinagar organised three days Faculty Development Program on Student Induction Program from 29th Janurary to 31st January , 2019 at Vishwshvaraiya Auditorium in VGEC. In this Faculty Development Program more than 150 faculties from various Government Engineering College, Grant In Aid Institution and Self Financed Institute across the state took part. The aim of this program was to train faculties by AICTE in association with VGEC to make smooth transition of student from School to Technical Education.

Workshop on “Examination Reforms”
Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Chandkheda in association with AICTE and GTU in the guidance of Director of Technical Education Gandhinagar organized one day workshop on “EXAMINATION REFORMS” for the faculties of GTU affiliated institutes. The globalization of the world economy and higher education are driving profound changes in the engineering education system. Worldwide adaptation of Outcome-Based Education framework and enhanced focus on higher-order learning and professional skills necessitates a paradigm shift in traditional practices of curriculum design, education delivery and assessment. In recent years, worldwide sweeping reforms are being undertaken to bring about essential changes in engineering education in terms of what to teach (content) and how to teach (knowledge delivery) and how to assess (student learning). Examinations or student assessment play a very important role in deciding the quality of education. The academic quality of examinations (question papers) in Indian Engineering education system has been a matter of concern for a long time. This program attempts to bring out recommendations for reforms. .
Expert Talk on “Project Engineering and Management” Instrumentation and Control Department in association with IEI Student Chapter and Alumni Association organized an expert talk on “Project Engineering and Management” on 25/03/2019. The main aim of the event was to inform and teach students practical applicability of concepts of Project execution, through the subject of Project Engineering and Management. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Mazharudin Vohra. He has graduated in Instrumentation and control engineering from Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda in 2017 and presently working in Masibus, Gandhinagar in Sales and Proposals. 8th semester students were focus audience, as they have subject on Project Engineering and Management. 52 students have attended the program.

VGEC Alumni Association Activities An industrial visit was arranged by VGEC Alumni Association with the sincere efforts of the alumnus of
VGEC Mr. Borisagar and HOD of the electrical department. 6th semester students of Electrical
Engineering Department of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Chandkheda visited Kosol
Energie plant, situated in Bavla. These visit falls under major activity head of “Technical/ Research skill”
with sub-activity head of “Industrial / Exhibition Visit with Report”. The visit was organized for one day on
18/02/2019. Total 28 students took benefit of this industrial visit. The students were accompanied by Prof.
Avani Mistry, Electrical Dept.
An industrial visit was arranged by VGEC Alumni Association with the sincere efforts of the alumnus of VGEC Mr. Borisagar and HOD of the electrical department. 6th semester students of Electrical Engineering Department of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College,Chandkheda visited Topline Switchgear Pvt Ltd, Kalol. This visit falls under major activity head of “Technical/ Research skill” with sub-activity head of “Industrial / Exhibition Visit with Report”. The visit was organized for one day on 18/02/2019. Total 40students took benefit of this industrial visit. Thestudents were accompanied by Prof. Neepa Shah, Electrical Dept.
An alumni meet Vishwasmruti 2.0 arranged at VGEC on 20/1/2019. The main objective behind the meet was to “Connect the hooks of the current students with the alumni” as well as to make the alumni relive those back-lost golden college days and have a reminiscentevening with all the near and dear of the campus where the life to success began. The event was attened by 150 alumni from local, national and international locations. Categorized into various sub-programs the event covered all major aspects ranging from fun to knowledge savvy functions. The chief guest was Dr Jaison Manjally, Associate Prof, IIT-GN who briefed about why connecting with the alma mater is highly important for any professional.

Webinar: “India First Leadership Talk Series”
IIC (Institute Innovation Council) Cell of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College organized telecast of the three episodes of “India First Leadership Talk Series”, a Webinar Organized by MHRD‟s Innovation Cell on 8/1/2019, 24/1/2019 and 19/3/2019 at Vishveshwarya Auditorium, Block A. The first talk was delivered by Shri Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group on 8/2/2019. The objective of this program was to motivate students for the entrepreneurship & leadership. 240 Student and 10 faculty have attended this program. The second talk was delivered by Dr. Anand Deshpande, CMD Persistent Systems Ltd on 24/1/2019. The theme of the talk was on theme “Planning for Career, Future industry trends and Startup”. 273 Student and 07 faculty have attended the event. The third talk was delivered by Ajit Kumar Doval, IPS, PPM, KC, PM, is the 5th and current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on 19/3/2019. Students get the awareness about real time decision making of National Security. Ajit doval share how without having using social media he stay connected. Students understood how to make decision in critical condition and got motivation from real life hero by his own word. 193 Student and 07 faculty have attended the talk.
Visit to Incubation center-Cradle at EDI
SSIP Cell, Vishwakarma Government Engineering College organized a visit to Incubation center-Cradle
at Enterpreneurship development of institution of india on 20/1/2019 along with 35 students. The main
objective of the visit is to teach students to plan, organize, and execute a project or new venture with the
goal of bringing new products and service to the market. They also developed advanced knowledge on
how to assess business opportunities and an in-depth understanding of what typically characterize
successes and failures. They understand the scientific research methods and theories relevant for the
field.

VGEC- AdaNature Activities As an effort to make our students more responsible towards society and the nation, Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC), Chandkheda in collaboration with Invincible (NGO) organized its 5th Heritage Walk (VAARSO 5.0) on the theme “Masjid Se MandirTak” on 3rd February 2019 (Sunday). The theme symbolizes harmonious coexistence and religious diversity in Ahmedabad, India‟s First World Heritage City announced by UNESCO. With 115 students participating in this walk, led this event to great success. This walk was accompanied by faculty coordinator Dr. Vaseem Qureshi.
VGEC-AdvaNature is an initiative by INVINCIBLE (NGO), working for awareness and welfare of HERITAGE and ADVENTURE. Every year, VGEC-AdvaNature organizes „VAARSO-Heritage Walk‟. To imbibe values and love for the nation, to showcase the historical importance of the Walled City of aapnu Ahmedabad, this year for the first time in history of VGEC, Advanature came out with different walk called „KRANTIWALK‟. It was a kranti walk through freedom struggle lanes with historical significance on 10th February 2019(Sunday). With participation of 90 students this walk turned out to be successful. Students were accompanied by faculty member Dr. Vaseem Qureshi.

VGEC-AdvaNature, an initiative by INVINCIBLE NGO, organizes many events based on Adventure, Heritage and Nature. After having great success in Heritage Walks and Krantiwalk, VGEC-AdvaNature organized an event for the first time in history of VGEC that is KHOJ 1.0 – A HERITAGE QUIZ. This event was held in Campus of VGEC itself on 15th of February, 2019. Around 310 participants took part in this event and made this event great success with their enthusiasm and zeal.
On a request by Dept of International Relations (DIR), GTU a customized heritage walk was conducted by VGEC-AdvaNature its International Students on 17th February, 2019. This walk was attended by GTU‟s International students from Poland, Afghanistan This walk was volunteered by VGEC-AdvaNature students Nisarg Choksi, Ashish Prajapati and Devam Shah. This event was accompanied by Faculty member Dr. Vaseem Qureshi. It was a full day Heritage Visit.
WDC Activities
WDC has organized an event "Ab Samjhauta
Nahin (know your Rights) with Vivel and Josh
Talks" on 19 march 2019 at “A”, block,
Vishveshvariya Auditorium, VGEC Campus,
Chandkheda. The objective of this event is to
deliver motivational talks to audiences, primarily
young people and to give a platform to people to
share their tales of courage. Josh Talks
passionately believes that a well-told story has
the power to reshape attitudes, lives, and
ultimately, the world. Miss Aashna Chaprana,
Campaign Manager from Josh talk and Vivel conducted this session with effective
Communication skill and talked about the various legal rights for women have in our constitution
through an interactive presentation and activities. 94 students and 18 Faculties have attended
this program.

WDC has organized an event "International Women‟s Day celebration – UDGHOSH 2019” on 8
march 2019 at “A”, block, Vishveshvariya Auditorium, VGEC Campus, Chandkheda. Following the theme of international women‟s day 2019, Woman development cell, VGEC in association with Invincible the youth brigade, organized Udghosh 2019, to motivate girls students and female staff of the institute through the real stories of living examples from various fields. Dr. Rajul K Gajjar – Principal,VGEC Chandkheda, Ms. Ruzan Khambatta- IT Business Women, Ms.PragnyaMohan -sports person (Triathlon runner) and Ms. Bhumi Maru – Deputy Mamlatdar were invited for delivering their motivational stories to our students and staff. 120 students and 20 Faculties have attended this program.
Technical/Industrial Visits
8th semester students of Mechanical Engineering Department of VGEC Chandkheda visited
SPRERI, situated in V V nagar. These visit falls under major activity head of “Technical/
Research skill” with sub-activity head of “Industrial / Exhibition Visit with Report”. The visit was
organized for two days on 16/02/2019. Total 38 students (38 boys) took benefit of this industrial
visit. These students were accompanied by Prof. S A Solanki and Prof J M Parmar. It was a great
experience to watch how the renewable energy can produce power which can eliminate the no -
renewable sources and thus reduces the pollution and our reliability on the later sources. The
efficiency was increased by the methods used by the projects displayed and thus reliability on
renewable sources can be increased.
On 18th February 2019, an industrial visit of “400 KV Soja Substation” was organized as a part of
student‟s curriculum for “Power System Practice and Design” for 8th semester electrical
engineering department. This visit was carried out under the major activity head of “Technical /
Research Skill” and sub-activity head of “Industrial/Exhibition visit with report”. Total 30 (03
female students and 22 male students) participated in this visit. This industrial visit for final year
students was guided and accompanied by Prof. H. B. Vaghela and Prof. P. J. Purohit and Prof.
Mehulsinh Jadeja. The main focus of this industrial visit is to fill the bridge between technical
concepts taught in curriculum and industry applied concepts. Various technical concepts were
discussed with the students which are applied in the field of electrical engineering.

6th semester students of Chemical Engineering Department of Vishwakarma Government
Engineering College Chandkheda visited Naroda Enviro Projects Ltd (NEPL) at Aakash Dyestuff
Industries at GIDC -Naroda, Ahmedabad. These visit falls under major activity head of “Technical/
Research skill” with sub-activity head of “Industrial / Exhibition Visit with Report”. The visit was
organized for one day on 06/02/2019. Total 64 students (3 girls & 61 boys) took benefit of this
industrial visit. These students were accompanied by Prof. Prof. Jay Trivedi and Prof. U.P.
Christian.

Civil Department Woman’ s Day has been celebrated by Civil Department on 8th March,2019
SSIP phase – II evaluation has been done on 16th March, 2019. Mr. Harshal Parikh from L&T and Mr. Rahul Kanojia from GPCB have been jury. Six projects have been approved and a total of Rs. 2, 00,000 grant sanctioned.
An expert Lecture was organized for final year students on “ Application of Geo-synthetics in Civil Engineering fields” on 25th March, 2019. The expert lecture was delivered by Mr. Vecheta Ravikanth, Assistant vice president from Reliance Industries Limited..
EC Department EC department organized an expert lecture on “How to do Research” on 18/3/2019 at G-206. Dr
BalaNatarajan who is the professor at Electrical and computer engineering department, Kansas state university, USA was invited as an expert. 30 students participated in this lecture. The lecture was coordinated by Prof J K Niak and Prof N P Patel.
EC department organized an expert lecture and hands on session on “Multigate(FinFET) Circuit Simulation” on 29/3/2019 at G-206. IC Department IC department organized a Hospital Visit at ESIC Model Hospital, Bapunagar on 28th and 29th March, 2019
for 6th semester students, under IEI student Chapter for the course of Bio – Potential Instrumentation.
An Expert Lecture on “Project Engineering and Management” was organized in January 2019 for 8th semester students by Mazharuddin Vohra working at Masibus, Gandhinagar, under IEI Student Chapter and Alumni Association.
IT Department A Workshop on Computer Network” under IE (I) Students Chapter on 15th March, 2019 for 2nd and 3rd year
Students was held by IT Department, VGEC. 46 students took part in this workshop. This hands-on workshop intended to provide various concepts of computer network using Modern Tool like Cisco Packet Tracer. Prof (Dr.) Ajay N Upadhyaya, Associate Professor and Head, CE/IT Department, Ahmedabad Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad had conducted sessions of workshop. Topics like Basics of Computer Networks, IP addressing and its Classes, Cisco Packet Tracer, Building LAN using CPT tool, Static Routing and Dynamic Routing using CPT tool, VLAN were covered in workshop.
A seminar on “Cyber Security” was held by IT Dept, VGEC on 06/03/2019 in B-201, VGEC. This seminar was intended to provide the students how to protect the products i.e. web apps, networks designed by developers, administrators from intrusion of cyber-attacks. Mr. Sahun Shaikh from TOPS Technologies, Ahmedabad had conducted the seminar. Contents like Introduction to Security [Hacking, Ethical Hacking, Cyber Security, Malware and virus [Virus, Worms, Trojans, and Backdoors], Securing Email Communications, Vulnerability Research [Nessus Tool] were covered in this seminar.Expert had also demonstrated various techniques generally used by cyber attackers to compromise an object i.e. network, system or service.
In collaboration with VGEC Alumni Association, Info Tech Dept, VGEC organized a workshop on “Design Thinking and Project Management” on 29/01/2019 by Mr. Pratik Shah (Alumni Batch 2008-2012), UX Designer, Walmart India, Bangalore. The objective of event was to introduce students about product development process and enhance their creative thinking ability and awareness with the product development phases and activities at each stages of the product development to make product successful. During various activities performed by students, they get change to showcase their creativity and innovative thinking skills.
A Seminar on Data Science by BSE Institute Limited, Ahmedabad was held by IT Department on 28/03/2019. The session was taken by Mr Vrushang Patel, Mumtaz Mistry, Seema Shrivastava from Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Institute Limited. The agenda was to spread awareness about the importance of data science in today’s world.This seminar was intended to provide the students glimpse of latest developments and trends in the industry about Data Science.
IT Department had organized a seminar on Internet of Things (IoT) Applications on 05/03/2019. This Expert talk was intended to provide participants to make aware about IOT (Internet of Things) and it’s applications in Real life. The participants are given practical exposure of IOT with illustrative application.The Training Representative Mr. Jigar Thakkar from TOPS Technologies, Ahmedabad had conducted sessions of Expert Talk. Contents like Introduction to IOT, How things are connected to Internet, Communication / Communicate, Applicability of IOT were covered during seminar.

Mechanical Department successfully organized AICTE-GTU Sponsored One Week Faculty Development Program on “RECENT TRENDS IN CAD/ CAM” during 25th-29thMarch, 2019. Total 41 faculties from various Engineering Colleges has participated in this program.The objective of this program was to aims to enhance knowledge and skills of participants in the area of CAD / CAM to highlight the research being carried out and
promote further research in these areas.
Power Electronics Department
A seminar on Career Guidance was conducted by Mr Sazeal Shah, Managing Director of Endeavor. The seminar was conducted in Power Electronics Department on 7th of February, 2019. Around 60 students from 4th and 6th semester of PE department had gathered. The seminar was conducted for sponsorship purpose to aid Team Auto Rangers Racing, the ATV team of VGEC.
To enhance the quality work on economic and human-centric Ideas developed through Design Engineering subject taught to the students of various engineering discipline, Design Presentation Day (DPD – March 2019) was organized by Prof. N. D. Mehta & Dr. A. M. Haque on 18 March, 2019.
