students
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone had a relaxing break and
have recharged their batteries for another busy term.
Staffing News
This week is Mrs Hedley’s last week before she goes on maternity
leave. We wish her all the best for the upcoming birth and can’t wait
to hear the news! Miss O’Brien will be taking over K/1H from
Wednesday this week for the remainder of the year.
Colour Run – Thank you!
Thank you so much to the P&C for organising such a fun event. What
a great way to end the term! Thank you to all the parents and Stage
3 students who assisted on the day and all the students who raised
money through sponsorship. Prizes will be finalised this week and
should be here in a few weeks. We have just heard this morning that
the Colour Run raised over $7800!!! Well done Wyee!
Dojo winners
I enjoyed catching up with more of the Term 2 Dojo winners during
the last week of term. They certainly kept me on my toes with
painting, handball, dancing, a beep test and the colour run! Thankfully
I had 2 weeks to recover! Congratulations to the following students
who were the Term 3 Dojo winners: Catherine KF, Stephanie K/1H,
Willow 1G, Lachlan 2W, Tilysha 2/3G, Caitlin 3/4R, Jade 4/5S,
Isabella 5/6N and Byron 5/6B. I look forward to spending time with
each of them in their classrooms this term.
Have a great week everyone!

Nut Allergies
We have recently been notified
that a student at our school has
experienced a severe and
frightening allergic reaction to a
biscuit containing peanuts.
We remind parents that even though we are
unable to declare our school as ‘nut free’, for
the safety of all our students, we ask that
students do not bring nuts or foods containing
nuts to school.
Important P&C Meeting News
Our next P&C Meeting will be held on
Wednesday, 18th October. We have 2
positions vacant, Secretary and Vice President,
and these will be elected at the next meeting.
Mrs Tammy Barling will now take on the role of
President. All financial members will be eligible
to nominate themselves and vote for the new
committee members. We will also be beginning
plans for the 2018 Wyee Round Up. Any
parents wishing to be part of the fundraising
committee can also nominate themselves at the
meeting. We will need a lot of parents to take
on this huge workload. There will be
opportunities for parents to assist, even if you
cannot make the P&C meetings.
Sports day – Hockey – Term 4
This term all students K-6 will participate in a
7 week hockey program
provided through the Sporting
Schools program. Hockey
lessons will take place on
Thursday this term. Students
are asked to wear Sports Uniform on this day.
Selective High School Placement 2019
The online application for selective High
School Placement for 2019, Year 7 students
will open tomorrow, 10th October. If you
would like your child to try out for the
Selective High School Placement for 2019
it is important that you complete the online
application. The closing date for
applications is Monday 13th November
2017. Late applications will not be accepted.
Diorama Competition
Congratulations to our Environment Week
Diorama Competition winners. The judges
had a very hard job deciding just a few
winners out of the many dioramas entered.
All entries were clever and creative. Well
done everyone.
WYEE PUBLIC SCHOOL Quality Learning, Respectful and Responsible Living
Trinity asked Mrs
Coleman to run the
Colour Run with her.
They both had a lot
of fun. Jacob and Aiden enjoyed a game of
handball with Mrs Coleman.
Lulu asked Mrs Coleman to
join in dance. Lulu was a
great teacher and taught
Mrs Colemen the moves.
Layla had Mrs Coleman
complete her beep test
for her.
Mrs Coleman
had a busy Week
10 with Term 2
Dojo winners.

Just a reminder that we now accept online payments using the Department of Education’s Parent

‘$ Make a Payment’ is accessible from the utility bar on the front page of our school’s website
