QUAD chart.

Basic

Rules

of

The

QUAD

Chart

• Do not change positions, add lines or font size, of the formatted charts.

- (See formatted examples on the right side of this QUAD Chart.

• Always use aerial font black for comments in each of the sections.

- Use blue if comments or numbers have changed from previous month.

• All four sections of the QUAD chart with comments must be the same font

size.

• Use bullets. Double space from bullet and start sentence.

- Subsequent supporting comments of main bullet. Four spaces to the right,

double space and then use – (dash). Start comment.

• QUAD Separation lines.

- These lines are adjustable, move them up or down and left to right if

required. (This is the only exception for to format modification.

- On this example the lines are green, but on the actual Quad submission

they are black and 2-1/4 weight (size) of line.

- Do not change the weight, length or color of these lines.

• Use appropriate grammar and check the spelling before

submitting your QUAD Chart.

• Unit symbol.

- Height .28 and width .28.

- Centered as close as possible to the QUAD Line separators.

• Personnel Percentages.

• Letters are aerial 8, bold and

uppercase letters.

• Aerial 8 numerals.

- Use black if no change.

- Use red if decreased from previous month.

- Use green if increased from previous month.

• Percentage information is extracted from your official electronic NetUSR

report.

- Attention to detail is important. It is common that these numbers are

incorrect. Use what comes from NETUSR Composite Report.

COMMANDER’S TOP CONCERNS

• All comments must be short, concise, relevant and to the point. Remember that your audience is a three and four General officer.

• Use Aerial font size 8 -10. Must be the same in all comment sections.

• Centered within the lower right QUAD borders.

• Rank Concerns and use bullets and the dash (-) for supplemental bullets.

• This section is the most often understood. It is designed for commanders to express concerns that prevent them from executing or will prevent

them from executing the units mission. If the commander has no concerns.

- Create title below any concerns and name it Comments. Use Bold aerial and font size being used on the current chart.

• This section is for concerns the commander has that will require Department of the Army Assistance.

• Successfully completed the annual great sky exercise. The training of MET CNN5

has allowed the command to upgrade the MET to a T and Y status.

COMMANDER’S TOP CONCERNS

1. Personnel. The unit is doing great we have a major exercise coming

up and it will change my rating to a T level 1.

2. Equipment. Shortage of XMT radios degrade the units abilty to

communicate effectively dueing training and in the event of hositilities. We

require 15 sets that are not due for fielding for 12 months. Request early

fielding of the XMT radios.
