HISTORY of Technology
Technology in 1970 verse 2013 has changed tremendously. Society has updated from
landline telephones to cell phones. Families invested hundreds of dollars into purchasing
encyclopedias for their children. If you could not reach someone by telephone, then you would
more than likely page them on their pagers. Home computers were obtained by an elite group
of families. All of which have surely changed.
Today, many homes no longer contain a landline phone due to the fact that the majority
of household members have cell phones. Children from the age of 5 and up along with their
parents and other adults in the household have cell phones. The government has even started
a program that gives out free phones to individuals according to their income. With such a
widespread of cell phone availability, landline phone have just about become obsolete.
In years past, when students needed to complete an assignment, they used
encyclopedias or clipped articles from the newspapers. Today, these methods are things of the
past. Just about everything now is available via the internet. Technology has grown so rapidly
that young children have been incorporated in the phenomenon. When purchasing items from
a store, a clerk would input the cost and you would then pay. Now, clothing and food items
prices are stored on a barcode located on the item which no longer has to be inputted by the
clerk. It only needs to be scanned on the scanner.
QR Codes are currently being used throughout the world, but the use of QR codes is
increasing at enormous rates. Individuals seeking jobs can provide companies with their QR
code and companies can immediately access the candidates resume etc.

Past, Present and Future of QR CodesIn the past, businesses relied of humans to accomplish several job tasks. A clerk was
responsible for inputting the price of an item manually into the computer/register and
providing the consumer with a total. Now, with the use of qr codes, a clerk is no longer needed
when a consumer is ready to finalize their shopping. The consumer is now able to scan all items
on the scanner located in the stores and make the final payment.
The automobile industry has relied on QR codes for over a decade now. Toyota was first
know to use QR codes in order to track automobiles and parts shipments Due to the fact that
shipment was done internationally, QR codes made it easier for the auto industry to track their
merchandise.
Today, just about all major retailers and manufactures have an array of items that all have QR
codes attached to them. Stores are providing discounts, surveys, and advertisements through
the use of QR codes. While shopping in a retail store, you might find at the beginning of an
aisle, a QR code. The QR code will list the items that are located within that isle.
QR Codes are used in just about every business in the world today. When purchasing
food items from a grocery store all of the items are scanned across the scanner and the price is
displayed of the screen for the consumers viewing. After all items have been scanned, a total is
calculated and the consumer is then expected to pay.
