FAQ
1. Is the mineral mix safe to feed alongside other
regular feed supplements?
Yes there are no conflicting or potentially toxic
minerals to be concerned about. 100% Safe for
pregnant mares. Recipe under Patent application
process – hence ingredients not published yet.
2. How do I measure 50 grams?
Gently but firmly pack the enclosed measuring
cup – it should be close enough to 50 gram in
weight.
3. Should I still rug my horse?
Do whatever you need to assist your horse to be
comfortable and safe. If you live in a high midge
or march fly population area, you most certainly
should assist your horses comfort.
4. Should I use an insecticide?
We recommend doing so to help keep the biting
insects off the horse whilst it is recovering from
the inside out. If your horse is afraid of sprays,
consider using a wipe on mix such as Brute or a
homemade mix of 1 ltr Coconut oil adding 5ml
Neem oil or 5ml Lemon of Eucalyptus Oil. Do NOT
use Neem on pregnant mares to avoid
stimulating the uterus.
5. My horse’s ears, mane or tail is still itchy after 3
weeks, why would that be?
Rubbing of the ears, mane or tail after 3 weeks is a
strong indication your horse may be carrying a skin
mite burden in these regions.
Suspect mites in these regions are psoroptes or
sarcoptes. Alternatively your horse may have a
psoriasis skin disease other than QLD Itch. Consult
your veterinarian on both accounts for best
treatment options.
Owning a QLD Itch horse is not something one would understand until they find themselves with one. A perfect horse may arrive in a new area without any history of itch, and then suddenly develop the terrible itch. You may find your once totally great horse has become cranky, unsafe or unwilling to be ridden, preferring to spend long hours self mutilating himself. You are left with a horse with endless bouts of bacterial skin infections to deal with. Your horse is of little use to ride, compete on or even socialise with. Neither of you are happy about the situation. Everyone gives you a suggestion or two on how to treat, some appear to improve things on one front but overall, nothing has ‘worked’. You may wonder what good is it to keep trying - perhaps you think selling is your only option. Not anymore! For the first time - a feed supplement has been created that targets the immune response to
the initial bite – changing the need to self mutilate into a ‘it’s not that bad response’ – like a normal horse. QLD Itch Ease goes to work drawing pathogens from the inside and flushing these out, whilst replacing bad bacteria with good ones. It further boosts the immune system whilst stabilising an over or under active response to an itchy bite. Q.I.E also down regulates the inflammatory reaction to the bite. Further ingredients also help the skin to repair, aiding in the treatment of QLD Itch from the inside out. We believe if you feed QLD Itch Ease daily at just 50 grams per horse with a sensible approach to managing insect bites and apply just a little M-T-G to the old sores and any new ones (upto 3 times per week maximum) whilst the internal system is being rectified you will see results like these in just 2-3 weeks.
