The three pyramids of Giza were built in Ancient Egypt for approximately 4500 years ago. They served as tombs for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and
Menkaure.
The largest of the pyramids is the Pharaoh Cheops with 147
meters high. It is known as the "Great Pyramid”. It was built
with limestone blocks.
It is believed that over 100,000 men, mostly slaves, were used
for the construction of the pyramid of Giza. It took
approximately 30 years to complete it.
