To put your PowerPoint online

Finding the File Manager
To Find the File Manager: Click the Control Panel button
On the next screen,click Manage Files
The File Managerin your Web Enhanced Course looks like this:
When you upload a file:
The default folder when you upload is “My Files.”
Unless you specify a folder for the file to go into, it will upload under My Files.
Why create a folder?
Without Foldersyour file manager can look like this:
It’s much easier to finda specific file when it’s inside a folder.
Good Organization includes
Folders that make sense in terms of your course organization:
– Week/Unit/Chapter– Type of file (PPT presentations, graphics)
Remember where you put that file!
How to create a folder in WebCT
To create a folder:on the Actions menu scroll down to Options: Folder, and click Create Folder.
On the next screen,type in a name for the folder, and select a location under My Files to create the folder. Click “Create.”
On the next screen,The new folder appears in the list of folders:
Once the destination folder is created, you are ready to
upload your files.
Uploading Files to WebCT
On the action menu on the right: select “Upload.”
You will see a screen like this:
To upload a file from your hard drive or disk, click the Browse button:
A dialog box will appear:
Navigate to locate the file to be uploaded.
Highlight the file to be uploaded and click Open
The file name will appear in the Filename window:
Select the Destination folder from the dropdown list:
and click “Upload.”
Your file will appear in the File Manager list within the folder you selected:
Adding the Link
Once you have uploaded your PowerPoint, you will need to make it available to your students.
For our example, we will simply add it to the homepage.
Go to the Page when you want the link to appear:
On your page:
Click the Designer Options tag, then click the “Add Page or Tool” link.
On the screen that appears:
Click the “Single Page” option
Enter the information:
Browse to locate your ppt file:
Select your file from the File Manager:
Click “Add selected”
Your PPT presentation link appears:
