Purple and black wool,Knitting needles,Yarn needle,Safety pin.

Cast on 42 stitches.Knit 1, cast off 5 stitches x 6.Cut the wool, leaving a long tail.Thread through the remaining stitches and pull tight, use the cast on tail to join the first and lastpetals, shaping your flower.You can make a french knot with black wool for the middle, detailed in the crochet pattern below.Attach a safety pin to the back to turn your poppy into a badge.

Making the PoppyRound 1: Start with a magic ring. Work 10 single crochet into ring and pull tight. Round 2: *Chain 3, double crochet in next single crochet, triple crochet in same space, double crochetin same space. Chain 3, slip stich in next single crochet.* Repeat sequence until 5 petals are madewith the last chain 3 ending with a slip stitch in the last single crochet.Finish off and cut loose ends. Thread your yarn needle with the black wool. Tie a knot in one end, and thread through the middle ofthe poppy. Wrap the yarn around the needle at least once, but as many as five or six times. The more times youwrap the yarn, the bigger your knot will be.Place the needle back through the middle of the poppy, close to where you came up.Slowly pull the needle through and finish off on the reverse of the flower.Attach a safety pin to the back to turn your poppy into a badge.
