Materials You Will Need

• Tri-fold poster board 48x36”: available in most Dollar stores and craft departments

• Glue stick

• Sharp knife

• (optional) Paint and markers to decorate the theatre

• (optional) Baking paper and bandages to make a shadow puppet theatre

Tutorial

1. Print the designs.

2. Assemble the designs on the central section of the tri-fold board, aligning them around the

edges of the fold. Mark where you will need to trim the designs. They can overlap one

another, so you don’t need to trim them very precisely.

3. Using a glue stick, glue the designs onto the board. Let them dry.

4. Using a sharp knife, cut the opening hole.

5. If you’d like, you can paint the theatre. Use markers, watercolour paints or pencils—

whatever seems appropriate.

6. If you want to convert the puppet theatre into a shadow puppet theatre, attach baking

paper to the back of the opening. Helpful tip: Baking paper doesn’t stick to usual tape, but

it does stick to fabric bandages, so use them instead!

Watch the video of making the theatre here!
