The actor, who gave countless memorable per for-mances in movies of diverse genres, died at his residence here thismorning after a massive hear t attack. He was 66.Taking to social media, Puri's former co-stars and friends mournedhis death. Akshay Kumar, who worked with Puri in films like "Aan:Men at Work", "Hera Pheri", "Awara Paagal Deewana" and "OMG OhMy God!", tweeted, "Sad to hear about the passing away of the verytalented Om Puri, my co-actor in many films...hear tfelt condolencesto the family. #RIPDirector Karan Johar said in Puri's death cinema had lost a brilliantar t ist . MUMBAI, (PTI) Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the most talkedabout celebrity on social networking site Twitter. Shah Rukh left Salman Khanbehind to top the male celebrity of the year list with 36 per cent share of theconversations. Salman had an 18 per cent share, a press release issuedhere said. Gen-next star Varun Dhawan also made it to the list, followed byAkshay Kumar and megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Om Puri died on Friday morningfollowing a heart attack here. Remembering the National Award win-ning actor, he said: "It is shocking news for us. We have postponed therelease of the film. 'Ram Bhajan Zindabad' will be releasing in Febru-ary. We will be officially announcing the final date within two to threedays." Kidwai said Om Puri has a central character in the film. "Hisdemise is a big loss for the industry," he added. The film is a politicalsatire and is directed by Ranjeet Gupta. Veteran Hindi actor Om Puri on Friday passed awayafter a severe hear t attack. But that hear t-wrenchingnews echoed in all the film industries he graced withhis acting prowess. The 66-year-old, who had

predominantly acted in the Hindi film industry, had also madehis presence felt in not just Bollywood but in film industriesfrom Punjab to the three or the four southern 'woods'. Puri has a characteristic distinction for his per for-mance to achieve per fection and his hallmark deep gutturalvoice accentuating his mien.But Puri was not just limited to Bhavni Bhavai, Sadgati, ArdhSatya, Mirch Masala and Dharavi of the Bollywood, he actedin close to 15 regional language movies other in Hindi whilethree of his projects are in the filming stage. The actor beganhis film career with Marathi film Ghashiram Kotwal in 1972,

just after he passed out from FTII in Pune.With a debut in Kannada industry in 1977, the actor's firstKannada film was Tabbaliyu Neenade Magane that wasdirected by Girish Karnard. In fact, Om Puri recalled in aninterview that Karnard was the one who initiated him intofilms. Puri had said that the director heard about the plight ofthe actor and offered a minor role in a children's film B VKaranth was making - Chor Chor Chup Ja. The actor's nextKannada film AK47, in 1999, turned out be a big commercialhit of that times that had run for 175 days.In the Shiva Rajkumar starrer, Puri played a crucial role as acop. Leveille, 26, is a native of St. Catherine's, Ontario and enters the Beastlineup having suited up for 22 games between the Thunder and the Elmira Jackals. The 6'0" centre recorded acombined three goals and eight helpers for 11 points thus far in the 2016-17 ECHL campaign. The speedy forwardplayed four years of NCAA hockey with Michigan State University from 2008 to 2012, appearing in 131 games overfour seasons. Considered a dynamic two-way player, Leveille showed great offensive skill in scoring 26 goals whileadding 43 assists and 50 penalty minutes. He made his professional debut in the 2012-13 season, appearing in 19American Hockey League games with the Hamilton Bulldogs (2A), and another 31 ECHL games with the WheelingNailers and San Francisco Bulls. Arrest warrant against Wasim AkramKARACHI (PTI) A sessions cour t in Karachi on Tuesday issued a bailable arrest warrant againstPakistan's former captain Wasim Akram after he missed 31 hearings of a case he filed against aretired Major after a road accident last year. Akram had filed a case against Major (retd) AminurRehman and associates last August after he was involved in a road accident with the retired armyman. The major had drawn out a revolver and fired an open shot after his vehicle collided withAkram's Mercedes while the former captain was returning home after conducting a fast bowlerscamp at the National Stadium. Sources said that the matter was amicably settled between the twopar ties on the intervention of influential people in a few days and that is why no one had attendedthe hearings of the case, which was initially registered at Bahadurabad police station at Akram'sbehest.
