PUBLIC SPEAKINGPublic speaking is the process or act of per-

forming a speech to a live audience. This type

of speech is deliberately structured with three

general purposes: to inform, to persuade and

to entertain. Public speaking is commonly un-

derstood as formal, face-to- face speaking of

a single person to a group of listeners. Depart-

ment of Journalism and Mass Communication

organized a one hour Special lecture on Public

Speaking at Lingaya’s Lalita Devi Institute of

Management and Sciences for the students

on 1st February 2018.

The Resource Person for this lecture was Mr.

Ravi Manorama. The session was started with

the introductory session of the Guests and

honored by Dr. Dilip Kumar, Head of the De-

partment. The purpose of this lecture is to re-

move gliches among the students while speak-

ing in Public. Being the Journalism students,

it is necessity for every student to remove the

isolations while speaking in the Public. Vari-

ous tips were given to the students for remov-

ing the barriers of Public Speaking. The ses-

sion was interesting and students gained lot

of knowledge from this session. The one hour

lecture by the Resource person was very Cap-

tivating and worth attending.

Department of Journalism and Mass Commu-

nication of Lingaya’s Lalita Devi Institute of

Management and Sciences released Lingaya’s

Voice and Lingaya’s Pixel on 1st February

2018 at the College Premises. The release is

done by the Director of the institute, Dr.K.K

Garg, Head of the Department (Journalism

and Mass Communication), Dr. Dilip Ku-

mar, Faculty members and the students of the

Department. Lingaya’s Voice is the monthly

magazine released by the department where

college activities and

articles by the students are written, edited and

designed for the learning session for the stu-

dents. Department always try to provide prac-

tical knowledge to the students for the Growth

and Development of the students. The Linga-

ya’s Pixel is the new baby of the Department.

The motive of this is to enhance the Photog-

raphy skills and develop an eye of capturing

something new by the students. As photogra-

phy is the basic in Mass Communication, to

enhance more skills of the students in Photog-

raphy this e- magazine is being propounded

by the Department.
