ORIENTATION DAY
Lingaya’s Lalita Devi Institute of Management & Sciences welcomed the fresh
batch of students to the institute with a formal orientation day on 04/08/2018.
The students were duly invited to the college along with their parents so as to
familiarise them with the structure and organisation of the institution. The main
purpose of the orientation day was smooth transition into college campus where
students could familiarise with their peers, teaching staff and non-teaching staff.
A special informal interaction was organised with the heads of various
departments wherein students and their parents/guardians could freely interact
about academics, co-curricular activities, fest and attendance rules among other
topics. The students and parents participated wholeheartedly in this and the
event was a major success.
The students were awarded for their academic excellence and there was an oath
taking too. The Chairman delivered a speech on goal orienting for new students.
There was introduction of faculty members of all departments. After that the
program was ended by National Anthem.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Independence Day was celebrated on 14th
August, 2018 organized by Department of
Education, Lingaya’s Lalita Devi Institute of
Management & Sciences. An inter-house
board decoration competition was organized
in the first half of the day for students of
Semester I, B.Ed who participated with full
enthusiasm and gusto. The theme of the
competition was “Saare Jahan Se Achcha
Hindustan Humara”. The students discussed
the theme with their house supervisors and
then decorated their respective boards
allotted to them.

The second half of the day was devoted to a cultural programme. The
programme started at 1 pm in the presence of staff and students. The
programme started with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by
various dance performances on patriotic numbers. There was also a play on
theme of our freedom struggle and independence. The students were dressed in
tri-colors symbolizing the national flag which rendered a unique flavor to the
Independence Day Celebration.
GUEST LECTURE ON LIFE SKILLS
Department of Education organized a guest lecture on the topic,
“USEFULNESS OF LIFE SKILLSIN DAILY LIFE” on 17 August 2018.it is
worth mentioning that Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive
behaviour that enable humans to deal effectively with the demands and

challenges of life.Asst.Prof. Parvesh Lata highlighted the various uses of Life
skills in our daily life. She also emphasised on the Life skills are a product of
many skills are developed simultaneously through practice. The students
actively participated in the guest lecture and clarified their doubts towards the
end of the session. Overall it was an informative lecture which benefitted the
students.
SCREENING OF MOVIE “I AM KALAM”
Department of Education organised
screening of a movie “I am Kalam” on
23th August 2018 as a part of Semester I
Practicum course, ‘Understanding the
Self’. The screening was followed by a
reflective analysis of it. The movie
focuses on the importance of hard work
in shaping one’s destiny. The students
discussed the key themes of the movie
and its relevance in contemporary India.
TEACHER’S DAY
Lingaya’s Lalita Devi Institute of Management & Sciences organized a
teacher’s day celebration on 4th September, 2018.

A special assembly was organized by the students for the faculty members. The
students prepared speeches and poems which elaborated on the significance of
Teacher’s Day and the role of Teacher’s Day in our lives.
An inter-house board competition was also organized for students. The results
was declared as follows:
1st position – Sarojini House
2nd position – Laxmibai House
3rd position – Kalam House
GUEST LECTURE ON CRITICAL UNDERSTANDING OF ICT
Department of Education organized
a guest lecture on the topic,
“CRITICAL UNDERSTANDING
OF ICT” on 10th September, 2018.
It is needless to say that ICT is
permeating all aspects of our lives
and the field of education is no
exception. ICT is being
tremendously used in all areas of
education, be it teaching, learning,
evaluation or administration. Prof
MC Sharma highlighted all these

aspects and discussed the importance as well as use of ICT in our classrooms.
He also emphasised on the innovative pedagogic tools developed by NCERT
for school classrooms and also shared web links which can be referred to for
successful integration of ICT in classrooms.
The students actively participated in the guest lecture and clarified their doubts
towards the end of the session. Overall it was an informative lecture which
benefitted the students.
HINDI DIWAS
Hindi Diwas was celebrated by
Department of Education on 14
September 2018. Hindi is our
national language. The students
prepared speeches and poems
which elaborated on the
significance of Hindi Language.
Students also prepared slogans
and posters.

VISIT TO ART AND CRAFT MUSEUM
A visit to the Art and Craft Museum, Pragati Maidan was organized on 18th
September 2018 for students of B.Ed. The students were accompanied by
teachers to the Museum. The students visited the stalls of various states and get
knowledge about their crafts and culture. The students also explored various
village dwellings, courtyards and shrines from different states of India, with
items of day-to- day life displayed. Tradition of Indian craftsmen through
painting, embroidery, textiles, various crafts of clay, stone and wood.
The memories of the museum visit were saved with ample number of
photographs. It was an exciting and informative visit for all.
SEMINAR ON “MINDFULNESS IN THE CLASSROOM”
Department of Education conducted a seminar on 19th Sept 2018 on
‘Mindfulness in the Classroom’ for B.Ed. semester II students in the college
auditorium. In this seminar students were told about the power of meditation
and how meditation helps in training of your mind.

She also enlightened the students about four types of thoughts & mind create
thoughtsShe also told how can we change our emotions through practice of
meditation and yogaAfter that all students and Teachers did meditation which
was guided by her followed by Suryanamaskar. The seminar ended with vote of
thanks.
GANDHI JAYANTI
Lingaya’s Lalita Devi Institute of Management & Sciences organized Gandhi
jayanti celebration on 29th September, 2018. An inter-house display board
decoration competition was also organized for students.

CELEBRATING THE ICONIC CULTURAL FIGURES
This day was marked by celebrating iconic cultural figures on 16th October
2018. The students of Semester I, B.Ed participated in the programme. The
students discussed about the life, times and contribution of these figures to the
field of art, literature and culture. Students prepared presentations and cultural
programmes to commemorate the time and life of these cultural iconic figures.

WORKSHOP ON “ARTS AND CRAFTS AND ITS
PEDAGOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE”
Department of Education conducted a workshop on 23thOctober 2018 on
‘Arts and Crafts and its Pedagogical Significance’ for B.Ed. students in the
college auditorium. Ms. Anjali Dashora explained various methods of art and
craft to students. In this workshop students were learned about various
paintings and craft methods. Students make various kinds of painting and
learned how to use them in various pedagogies.

ZEST- 2018
Students of Lingayas Lalita Devi Institute of Management and Sciences
participated in zest- 2018 organised by Lingayas Vidyapeeth on dated 26th
October to 28th October 2018. . The fest was a three days of enjoyment and
there were a number of events which took place and there were a lot of
competitions which were organised in the fest.
DAY 1
The first day had the inauguration ceremony where Bollywood actor, Aditya
Pancholi was the chief guest. The inauguration ceremony was really good which
had singing and group dance by the students of Lingaya’s University.

After the inauguration ceremony, there were a number of competitions and
events organised in every part of the campus. There were events like Rangoli
competition, preliminary round of the debate competition, solo singing in which
students of our college won many prizes and qualified for the finals as well.
DAY 2
The second day was very good which had finals of various competitions like the
solo dance, duet dance, literary events etc.The day ended with the fashion show.
Our college won the prize for fashion show and in other competitions also.The
last day of zest had wrapping up of all the events and competition followed by
the prize distribution and closing ceremony. The last day also had the Jam
session and star night with a leading singer, Hardy Sandhu sang.

CULTURAL FAIR- 2018
Students of Semester I, B.Ed organized a cultural fair on 2nd November 2018 in
the college. The students were divided in groups of 8-10 and each group was
allotted one state each. Each group researched on their respective states and
collected information.

Stalls were put up and decorated with food items, clothing and other significant
items to showcase the essence of that particular state. Students also prepared
presentations and cultural events to express the spirit of various states.
Students also realised the plurality which exists in our country. The students
enthusiastically participated in the programme and enjoyed a lot.

FRESHER’S PARTY
LLDIMS organized a sumptuous fresher’s welcome party for the batch of 2018-
2019 .The purpose of this event was that every “fresher” of LLDIMS feels like
an integral part of the Lingaya’s family and readies to take on challenge of the
year ahead.
Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome party for the students. The
party organised in LLDIMS was on November 4,2018, manifested youth and
enthusiasm at its full flow with guest ‘Rohit Thakur’. With pulsating ambience,
flashing Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome party for the
students. With pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music, the
party began with a blast. The excitement augmented to a joyful high when Mr

and Miss freshercompetition Started at the college auditorium in which the
maximum number of students from each department participated to showcase
their talent.
The fresher’s party was not just as ordinary as any other fresher’s party because
in LLDIMS everything has its own unique style .
The fresher’s competition was complimented with amazing talents and it was
worth watching. After the competition came to an end , the mercury began to
rise, the dance floor was left open for some unbridled energy. Joy and happiness
could be seen in students of each and every course at the college. They were
having the time of their lives. and foot tapping music, the party began with a
blast. The party scripts the beginning of hard work & fun the students would be
paging through for the coming years at the college.
Fresher’s party is all about making atime to create everlasting relationships with
each other.
