The HCPC says..
CPD is the way professionals continue to learn and develop throughout their careers so they keep their skills and knowledge up to date and are able to work safely, legally and effectively.
![Page 21: Provider Briefing 21 July 2015 West Midlands Social Work Agency Protocol](https://reader036.vdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062516/56649d9e5503460f94a87f22/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Social Workers should
• maintain a continuous, up-to-date and accurate record of their CPD activities;
• demonstrate that their CPD activities are a mixture of learning activities relevant to current or future practice;
• seek to ensure that their CPD has contributed to the quality of their practice and service delivery;
• seek to ensure that their CPD benefits the service user; and • upon request, present a written profile (which must be their
own work and supported by evidence) explaining how they have met the standards for CPD.
