It is our considered opinion that preservation of health is a duty and that impelled us at the Abdur Razzaque Ansari Memorial Weavers’ Hospital (Apollo Hospitals Group) at Irba, Ranchi, to ask what problems the health sector would have to solve in coming years. One of the key points to emerge was that the hospital sector would have to find new ways of being dynamic, which moved us to think of creating an integrated health & management education campus close to our Hospital itself. We were also motivated by the turbulence of the business world today, quantum leaps in technology and the new social trends.
We also thought that in such a climate the only way to succeed is to adapt, and that means being flexible and dynamic in managing the health sector. We originally intended to go in for the time-honoured scheme of strategy, structure and so on by setting up a medical college. But we thought that this would have made it difficult to look at the problems of the health sector from a new angle. We, therefore, decided to start a more unconventional and stimulating scheme of having every kind of education needed for strengthening the health sector- from Nursing, Paramedical sciences, Hospital Management, PM&HR Management, Rural Management, Pharmacy, Medical and Dental college and finally has an objective to convert the institution as Deemed University. This is an idea which has so far not received much attention.
We are aware that such innovation incurs the risk, as every innovation does, that the gap between the familiar and the new will be too great. But guided by the innovative aspiration of my father, late Abdur Razzaque Ansari, it seemed to us that we have to overturn the pattern of thought which is already established over the last many years and the most sensible way to do it is to have an integrated campus for health sciences & Management. Hence, the Shine – Abdur Razzaque Ansari Institute of Health Science and Research.
I am sure that in future we would be able to undertake further steps in this direction to meet the growing needs of the health education and Management sector.

Education makes man a right thinker and a correct decision-maker. This is facilitated by fetching man knowledge from the external world, teaching him to reason and acquainting him with developments in the scientific arena, so that he may be a better judge of the present world. Without education, man is concealed in a windowless room, a fact particularly applicable to people belonging to the minority community. Our motto, therefore, is to provide education so that man finds himself in a room with all its windows open to the outside world. This is affirmation with the commitment of the Constitution makers who did not hesitate to guarantee educational rights especially for the minority communities under Article 30 of the Constitution, realizing quite faithfully that people belonging to such communities are deprived of requisite educational standards to attain status analogous to their brethren draws from other communities. The testimony which provides proof of our motto is the launching of the “Shine-Abdur Razzaque Ansari Institute of Health Education & Research”, named after one of the most illustrious sons of the Muslim community known for his distinguished secular credentials. Our Institute is committed to provide to the generations of youth to possess the potential to professionally do away with the ailments afflicting the masses. Abdur Razzaque Ansari is a name to be reckoned with for his ingenious dreams and intuitive vision to ensure all round uplift of the downtrodden sections of the society particularly those belonging to Muslims and Weavers’ community. The illustrious son of this great visionary, Shri Manzoor Ahmad Ansari took up the arduous task of translating his father’s dreams into reality and founded the Abdur Razzaque Ansari Memorial Weavers’ Hospital (Apollo Hospitals Group) Irba, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India: A Multi-Speciality Hospital at Irba, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.
Our Shine-Abdur Razzaque Ansari Institute of Health Education & Research setup in collaboration with Abdur Razzaque Ansari Memorial Weavers Hospital (Apollpo Hospitals Group). Our unassailable belief is that education about health care is an empowering process. How it’s taught is range for the provision of information about paramedical courses, nursing techniques, hospital management, dental care, management practices and, of course, entire gamut of medical science. Therefore, our endeavor in setting up the Institute is to have exclusive centers of excellence for the study of each of these vital limbs of health care & management education.
