satisfaction on placement value added courses, curricular and co-

curricular activities, facilities in the campus, and industry interface etc.

are also given due priority.

11 Grievance redressal

mechanism for faculty, staff

and students.

The grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students is well

defined and operates as follows:

1. For Faculty:

Faculty members bring their grievances to the notice of the Principal /

Director through the Head of the Department. Principal / Director

inquires about the grievances and if needed brings it also to the notice of

the Chairman of the Board of Governors.

2. For Staff:

The grievance is referred through the sectional heads to the concerned

Administrative Officer and/or Registrar. The matter is sometimes referred

to the Principal / Director.

3. For Students:

I. Students refer their academic problem to the concerned course

coordinator. If the concerned course coordinator is unable to solve their

problems they go to the Head of the Programme / Principal.

II. For any problem other than academics the students referrer their

problem to their mentors. Besides for specific problems like hostel they

refer to hostel superintendent and subsequently to warden, for placement

to placement Head.

III.The grievances related to the examinations are referred to the

Controller of the Examination. For facilities in the campus any problem

arises the students refer to the A.O / Head of the Department. The

grievances related to the departmental activities are represented to the

concerned Head of the Department. In case of major grievances, students

may also approach the Principal / Director for necessary action.

18 Counseling / Mentoring Each Faculty acts as mentor for 10 students.

The faculty members of the Department are ever vigilant about the need

for special attention to students who find it difficult to cope with the

curriculum. In order to identify weakness, Faculty members regularly

take class-tests, evaluate the level of achievement and hold remedial

classes (Tutorial classes). A record of these activities is kept in the

Attendance Register. Besides, for providing better / effective academic

facilities & role requires the mentor to help the mentee develop

professional interests and set realistic career goals of our students. The

Mentoring concept has been introduced at RCM to promote, professional

& personal goals of students.

Career Counseling The faculty participates in academic and personal counseling department-

wise for such students. Almost all the MBA & MCA students are

provided with such counseling by the individual teachers/ mentors/

counselors of the department as regards their academic progress as well

as their future prospect. The cell is also engaged in disseminating

information about the job opportunity and self-employment in Govt. and

non-Govt. organizations. The role of the cell is as follows:
