SVIN JournalSVIN is preparing to launch a leading peer review journal for scientifi c research and literature pertaining to the fi eld of vascular and interventional neurology.

Clinician Scientist Development AwardSVIN has partnered with the American Academy of Neurology and the American Brain Foundation to offer the Clinician Scientist Development Award, which provides $240,000 over three years to support education and research-related costs. This award helps to advance research in Interventional Neurology to benefi t people with stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases. Award Sponsorship Levels:

SVIN RegistryThe SVIN Registry’s purpose is to create a national surveillance system to assess the characteristics, treatments, and outcomes of patients with large vessel occlusion acute ischemic strokes (LVOS). Facilitate efforts to improve the quality and safety of LVOS patient care, and investigate novel quality improvement methods. The SVIN Registry currently has 10 active sites. As of August 2020 there has been a total of 1,542 patients entered into REDCap.

MT2020 Research

• 2020 COVID Survey & Write Up and Presentation • Stroke Coordinator Survey

MT2020 created a survey to identify of the impact of COVID onstroke centers pre and post COVID peaks in April and May of this year. The MT2020 committee is currently completing this analysis and write up and plans on presenting it at ISC and other conferences. This survey along with other research opportunities, such as the Stroke Coordinator Survey, have given MT2020 opportunities to expand collaborations globally and increase and enhance stroke and mechanical thrombectomy access and care.

The MT2020 Global Executive Committee has been hard at work over the last 9 months working diligiently to put together 2 key committees that can aid in giving critical input and aid in the expansion and implemenation of the global strategic plan by collaborating with other countries and areas in the United States that may not share similar roles and functionalities.

As we have continued on our mission to increase access to stroke care and mechanical thrombectomy globally, we are committed to measuring the various levels of access to ascertain areas of need to further collaborate and ensure timely access to stroke care. To do so, we are creating a mechanical thrombectomy access score using a Modified-Delphi method.

MT2020 GlobalRegional CommitteesLaunch

A critical piece to continuing the global work of MT2020 mission is the organization and the future launching of the regional subcommittees. With over 50 countries involved outside of the United States, the successful launch of these groups will be defining moment of the future of MT2020 and it's ability to enhance global access for stroke and mechanical thrombectomy of various levels globally.

MT2020 Mobile AppUpgrades

A few years ago we launch an MT2020 app that served as a datacollection piece for the committee. With the vast intiatives of the MT2020 committee and the MT2020 Global Executive Committee, we quickly found a need to expand the app greatly. This includes: adding new fields such as: onset of ER arrival, door to puncture,door to recanalaization, mRs on DC and 90 days; associate system improvments; development and addition of stroke center rating system; displaying centers and cases by centers, soft reminders, top ten centers, and much more.

Mission Thrombectomy 2020 (MT2020) is a SVIN initiative with a committee goal to increase global access to mechanical thrombectomy.

On, Tuesday, February 18, 2020, we launched our first White Paper supporting this initiative and continue to survey providers to establish an understanding of current state of stroke treatment in individual communities around the world in order to: gather baseline regional data, recognizing local limitations, identifying potential community-specific solutions, and develop strategies.

The MT2020 Interventions 2020 Planning includes multiple projects and initiatives that will give industry an opportunity to give input, attend, and participate in MT2020 action items and events. The total cost to meet the 2020 goals is $670,000. The funding breakdown is given below.
