BBC 3s aims and objectives

1.The channel focus is young people–16-34 year-olds: people who are young in spirit and mindset.

2. BBC Three is ‘Never Afraid to Try New Things’ and that’s why we will continue to innovate with breakthrough comedy, standout entertainment, brave documentary and intelligent factual formats.

3. BBC Three should provide an environment for the development of new ideas and talent and for existing talent to take risks, becoming a genuine laboratory for BBC One and BBC Two.

Facts 1. BBC aim to save £100m from the axe of BBC 3

2. BBC 3 is the birthplace of rating successes such as.

3. Kids’ ages 8 to 18 now spend an average of 10 hours and 45 minutes a day, seven days a week with media. That translates into 75 hours and 15 minutes

Will it make much difference?

My Proposal I am proposing a number of interviews on the

subject of young people’s careers, employment chances and ambitions. The minimum wage and whether the low rate for young people could be regarded as age discrimination.

The minimum wage: is it age discrimination?

In this interview young people will be asked whether age discrimination is present in the minimum wage system.

I will interview 10 people, half over 18 and half under 18. I will conduct this research in various town centres by approaching people and asking for their permission to be interviewed.

Unique selling point I believe my unique selling point is the debates

and even protests that could arise between young people and parliament.

As the subject matter would highly interest a number of young people as it is already heavily debated in parliament and therefore really does have a profound effect on the young community.
