THE PROPHET SPEAKS—

THE BOOK WITH SEVEN SEALS CONTAINS THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.-- "And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? There in His open hand lay the BOOK, the ROLL of the HISTORY OF GOD'S PROVIDENCES, THE PROPHETIC HISTORY OF NATIONS AND THE CHURCH. HEREIN WAS CONTAINED THE DIVINE UTTERANCES, HIS AUTHORITY, HIS COMMANDMENTS, HIS LAWS, THE WHOLE SYMBOLIC COUNSEL OF THE ETERNAL, AND THE HISTORY OF ALL RULING POWERS IN THE NATIONS. THE WORDS WHICH THEY NEEDED TO REMEMBER WERE BANISHED FROM THEIR MINDS, AND WHEN THE TIME OF TRIAL CAME IT FOUND THEM UNPREPARED. THE DEATH OF JESUS AS FULLY DESTROYED THEIR HOPES AS IF HE HAD NOT FOREWARNED THEM. {LDE 13.3} SO IN THE PROPHECIES THE FUTURE IS OPENED BEFORE US AS PLAINLY AS IT WAS OPENED TO THE DISCIPLES BY THE WORDS OF CHRIST. Child labor would be ended, and universal provision for education would guarantee that future generations have greater control of their own destiny. Women would be empowered by their own rights as workers instead of being subject to domination by male bourgeoisie.
