India is emerging as a consumption paradise; and with the long-term focus on infrastructure creation the demand for air-conditioning will surge in the next few years. In addition, there is a perception change across a wide cross-section of people, cutting across the social spectrum. Most people in India regard 'AC' as a daily necessity of life. Something you simply can't do without.

Despite volatilities, India's economic growth is supported by growing consumption index and favourable demography. India's long-term infrastructural growth will drive the HVAC industry.
Envisioning tomorrowDear Friends,
Collective determination can push the limit of what is possible, even when circumstances are
not favourable. The Daikin story in India illustrates this reality. This determination stems from
our confidence in our products, processes and people.
We have steadily grown in the last financial year in terms of market share and brand recall, enabling our
shift from prominence to dominance in the Indian HVAC market. Since 2010, we are aiming to be India's
numero uno HVAC player. We have formulated strategies and enhanced efforts to reach our objective
by 2015.
Despite volatilities, India's economic growth is supported by growing consumption index and
favourable demography. India's long-term infrastructural growth will drive the HVAC industry.
This is a defining moment for us, as we are at an exciting point of our evolution in India. We
continue to be one of the fastest growing air-conditioning companies in India, and at the
end of the financial year 2011-12, Daikin India stands tall securing a double-digit growth over
previous year.
Starting April 2012, Daikin India will celebrate past accomplishments and reinforce the intent
to move close to FUSION 15 strategic outcomes. With eyes fixed on the next five-to-ten years,
we aim to become an organization that responds to the structural changes of the times with
great agility. Taking a bold step forward, Daikin India is investing significantly to double its brand
visibility and product accessibility with a clear focus to reach customers in Tier II and III cities.
Your continued support has made us what we are today: a formidable player in the Indian air-
conditioning industry. We treasure your trust.
Best regards,

World's Highest efficiency Air-cooled screw chillers: NeW PATHFINDer
rANGe
With water availability becoming scarce and increasing restrictions
by municipal bodies for allowing use of water for cooling towers, air-
cooled screw chillers have become a necessity. ease of installation
and operation, in addition to elimination of condenser / cooling tower
system also make them popular. However, higher operating cost makes
them unviable in the ever increasing power cost scenario.
Daikin-McQuay pursuing its global policy of energy conservation and
environment protection has unveiled a new range of high efficiency
AWS (Pathfinder) chiller working on ozone-friendly r134a refrigerant,
which would bring an air-cooled screw chiller very close to water cooled
system in terms of operating cost.
Main Features
Nominal capacity range - 647 kW to 2008 kW
COP up to 3.64 (Premium efficiency range) & IPLV COP up to 4.78
New very high efficiency (full and part load) McQuay Single
Screw compressor.
New high efficiency shell & tube dry-expansion single pass
counter flow evaporator
New high efficiency condenser fans
New Microtech III controller
Lowest footprint
AWS range of chillers is available with following optional features:
a) Partial / Total heat recovery
b) Fan speed control for low ambient temperatures up to -18 deg C
c) High efficiency or premium efficiency chillers
d) Options of starters - Start-delta, Solid state or Inverter
e) rapid restart option for critical applications like data centre,
hospital, industrial
f) Hydronic kit - Inbuilt water pumps for lower plant room space
g) Low Noise and extra Low Noise versions
h) Free-cooling option
Free cooling
Free cooling is an economical method of using low external air
temperatures to assist in chilling water, which is then used for air
conditioning systems in data centres or industrial processes.
When the ambient air temperature drops below the set temperature,
all or part of the chilled water will bypass the existing chiller and run
through the 'Free Cooling System'.
The chiller system uses less power giving energy savings of up to 75%,
without compromising cooling requirements.
Using the lower ambient air temperature to cool the in-system
water has multiple advantages
It reduces the load on the chiller compressors;
Contributes to extend the chillers' operating life;
Decreases considerably the annual operating costs during cold
season, lowering the carbon footprint and improving your 'Green
Profile'
The free cooling chillers cool the building water loop directly with the
outside ambient air, thus reducing the load on the compressors and
decreasing considerably annual operating costs and CO2 emissions
during the cold season.
Moreover, cutting the compressor usage is also contributing to
extend the chillers' operating life, minimising even further the overall
installation cost.
With the introduction of the new free cooling range, Daikin-McQuay
fulfils its commitment to provide superior solutions suitable for all your
applications all year round.
Free cooling chiller can be ideal for cities, such as Delhi, Chandigarh,
Lucknow, Bhopal and Indore, among others.

Considering the criticality of TIer IV data centre, the customer opted
for the Daikin-McQuay premium efficiency air-cooled screw chillers with
a COP of 3.56 and rapid restart option. Low-noise levels of the chillers
helped us to differentiate with competition. The chillers were supplied
with factory fitted 'dual' chilled water pumps.
Kudos to the Daikin India team, which worked towards the sales &
execution of this important project. Installation of chillers on the 10th
floor terrace was extremely difficult as there was very little space to
position the crane. erection team did an excellent job of lifting &
positioning of these chillers.

Cab Branding
As part of the strategic out-of-home campaign for the season, Daikin India recently kick-started the cab branding activity in Delhi-NCr,
Mumbai & Bangalore. Cab branding as an activity provides us the advantage to create a succinct brand salience amongst the audience.
Daikin partnered with a cab company that allowed us to boldly advertise on visible cab surfaces, creating a constant recall of the brand
as the cab meanders though the city. This activity ensures a better canvassing of the targeted geographies, while enhancing brand recall
on those using and noticing the cabs. Cabs go where people go, where they work, live, shop and play. Daikin Cabs now follow the crowds
and mark the city roads, thus making our brand visible from every roof-top.
Residential Welfare Association Branding
Daikin India's strategic branding exercise in key residential welfare associations across Delhi-NCr, Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda and
Chandigarh, enhanced brand recall significantly. Key residential colonies (450) were carefully selected across Delhi, Ahmedabad and
Chandigarh to be endorsed by specially designed Daikin glow sign boards. Such an exercise provides a closer view of the brand, translating
into a higher recall for the products and services offered. The Company targeted 70 key colonies in Ahmedabad, 40 each in Surat and
Baroda, 100 in Chandigarh and 200 across Delhi and NCr for this initiative.

Cool, calm and collectedThe character of Pichonkun represents 'morning fresh' dew drops, akin to Daikin
air conditioners. The character first appeared in a TV commercial aired in Japan, to
highlight the humid-control feature of Daikin air conditioners. It's comforting and
friendly appearance was instantly appreciated by all. Named after the refreshing
sound produced by the falling of a water droplet, Pichonkun portrays a world of
calm and peace for consumers.
