Compressed Air is the most popular medium for atomizing paint in automobile paint

shops. Moisture present in the compressed air line used for spraying the paint affects

not only the final finish of paint but also affects the quality and life of paint.

Maruti Suzuki when faced with the problem of moisture in their compressed air line in

their Bumper Paint shop approached Delair to solve the problem.

Delair helped to solve the problem by installing two engineered refrigeration type

COMPRESSED AIR DRYERS which ensured supply of dry compressed air at 106 nm3/min.

Water Damage?

Announces

24 Hour Emergency Service for

Water Damage RestorationFloods, rains, broken/leaking water pipes, fire control, accidents,

faulty sprinklers can seriously damage your facility.

Timely, damage control through Restorative Drying prevents moisture

induced damage and retards growth of micro organisms.

Technical Drying Services, provides you with the most cost effective

solution to restore as well as control damage caused by excessive

water to structures and the facility. It allows you to retrieve safely,

soaked and water saturated books and documents, electronic

appliances, furnishing, walls and ceilings.

Water Damage Restorative Serivce, the first and the only such service

in India provides you with 24 hour emergency response to tackle

your immediate need for water damage control in “real time” and thus

minimizing the damage as well as loss due to business interruption.

where usage of dehumidification is both extensive and essential.

WHEN MOISTURE IS TORTURE !

Desiccant Dehumidification :

The Emerging Choice for Commercial Buildings

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and energy reductions in buildings

have combined to present a challenge to designers, owners,

and facilities operators in achieving both.

The issues addressed in this

art icle covers the “Moisture

Problem vis-à-vis IAQ”

and the opportunities

of using desiccant

dehumidif ication to

achieve dry indoor

condit ions in humid

climates while reducing

the energy consumption of

airconditioning .

The Moisture Problem

Latest researches show

that ;

l Moisture related IAQ

problems can negatively

affect productivity.

l Moisture wi th in bu i ld ings

promotes growth of mold/

mildew affecting asthma ,

bronchit is, sinusit is and

dermatitis.

l Moisture within buildings promotes the

growth of fungi spores released into the indoor

environment.

l Exposure to toxins from microorganisms found in wet or

moist areas in humidifiers and air conditioner can also

result in a respiratory illness known as Humidifier Fever.

The new ASHRAE Standard 62.1-1999 : Ventilation

for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality stresses on the

“Moisture” factor in IAQ related problems. As per

guidelines specified in the standard

l Occupied space

relative humidity

should be main-

tained between

30%-60% RH to

minimize growth

of allergenic or pathogenic organisms.

l Relative humidity in ductwork should not exceed 70%

RH to prevent fungal contamination (Mold, Mildew, etc.).

l Ventilation rates increased to accommodate

volatile organic compounds “brought into the

building”.

l Commercial facil i t ies, such as

off ice buildings, now have

ventilation rates set at 20 cfm per

person as compared to previous

rates of 7.5 cfm per person.

Desiccant

Dehumidification

- for Dry, Healthy Facility

Desiccant systems remove

moisture in a vapour phase. The

air is not saturated as it enters the

ductwork, so the supply ductwork is

dry. The dry air prevents fungus and

bacteria from growing in coils, ducts and

drain pans.

The use of desiccant dehumidif iers thus

becomes the preferred

alternative as it provides :

l Lower Relative Humidity than conventional approach.

l Reduced conventional

cooling tonnage require-

ment.

l Independent control of

temeperature/humidity.

l Lower energy costs.

Desiccant, dehumidifiers,

thus, allows you to meet

ASHRAE Std. 62-1999

guidelines, unlike conven-tional systems.

Moisture Control : Options

- Overcool to dehumidity and reheat for

comfort (reheat is very energy intensive)

- Heat Pipe assisted cooling coils

(requires sensible load)

- Dessiccant Dehumidification - the

preferred emerging option
