1. Who were the Shakespeares and the Ardens, and what was each family's place in local society?

The Shakespeares were the family of william sakespeare's father (john shakespeare) and he was a politic, later a farmer, and a manufacturer of textil and a diplomat. The Ardens were the family of William Shakespeare's mother (Mary Arden) and she was an English aristocrat.Since they were noble, they had a fantastic socioeconomic position and also political position. We deduced it because in the book appeard juliet and romeo in a big noble houses. And also because often they were doing parties with a lot of guests of the high class society, and we think he was inspirated with the reality. In that epoch the children of noble were married with who chose the parents.

2. When do historians think that Shakespeare arrived in London? What is the reason he may have had to

leave Stratford?

Shakespeare arrived in London in 1592 when he starts working of a dramaturg. Soon he became an actor and a writer and also he became owner of the theatre's company "Lord chamberlain men's". Jacob 1st replaced Isabel 1st because she died. Later, Jacob made to himself the theatre's owner of the company and he renamed the company with the name"king's men" (the men of the king). There are two hipothesis about Shakespeare left Stratford: one that tall the people of Stratford saw him hunting deeres in Sir Thomas Lucy's park and the other hipothesi tall he united of the theatral company lord chamberlain men’s when they had been in Stratford in their tour.

was like at the time? How did it smell like?

• One could say that the population was extremely poor, as well queiban and wore dirty clothes worn. Lived in appalling conditions and were excluded by the people of money and fame (the noble). The city was organized so that the king had his palace or castle and its subway around. The alleys were very narrow and intersect, do not follow any order.

The Dark Lady in the sonnets represents a woman with an ill colour skin and the dark in the sense of her hair, her facial features in her character. 8. Who were the Puritans? What were some of their beliefs? What did they think of the theatre and the actors

in Shakespeare's time?

The Puritans were the radical Protestants. They were a group of people who were discontent in the Church of England. The writings and ideas of John Calvin (a leader in the Reformation) gave rise to Protestantism and were pivotal to the Christian revolt. They were dedicated to doing away the Roman Catholic Church. They believed the worship should be simple and regular. To the Puritans all forms of entertainment, especially the theatre, served as a graphic illustration of the moral decline of the country. Many Puritans called for a complete ban on such activities.

Comparations

While we were watching the film, we've taken notes about the differences of the film versus the book. The comparations we found are:- The film starts with the TV news... The news broadcaster is the narrator.- They fight in a petrolstation, no in the old streets of Verona narrated by the book...- They met in the petrolstation with their tunned cars...- In the film, The Prince of Verona is a black policeman, called Prince.- We can see in the film they use guns (inscrived on the guns there are the letters "sword").- The biggest difference is the century which they are. They live in an actually city. - Mercutio, in the book is murdered in the streets of verona, and in the film, he dead in the beach. - Romeo stopped Tybalt's flight with his car and he killed Tybalt with his gun.- In the book Friar Laurence sent Baltasar to tell the news to Romeo about the plan and, in the film, Friar Laurence send an urgent letter for Romeo, which is ignored because Romeo didn't see it.- In Juliet's house we can see she has a waterpool.- In the final of the book we can see how Romeo kill Paris, and in the film we can't see that because Romeo don't kill Paris.

Page 12: Project Romeo&Juliet (Alejus, Pep Riera, Adrian, Robert)

Topics-         SETTING: Italian Verona has been renamed into Verona Beach. Why? Where is it? What is The Globe in the film? -          Because Verona Beach became a neighborhood from a USA fictional city. The Globe Theatre, in the film, has became a pub where Romeo plays pocket billiards. -         THE FANCY DRESS PARTY: Are the costumes the characters wear in the party relevant? What do they represent? Relate the knightly armour to chivalric love. Yes, Romeo has a knight outfit wich represents the original Romeo. Juliet has a fairy dress, wich makes her like a princess or a maiden.

- RELIGION: Religion is something by which the two families justify their actions. There are many religious references in the film (e.g. in the title). Which are they? Why? Do they also appear in Shakespeare’s work? In the film the two families were too religious. They always has a cross neckchain and always mean god.
