Coastal Link Road, Cooloola to Noosa Counter Road, Wolvi – Bitumen Sealing

Summary

Council will improve safety and access for local industry and tourists to the region along Counter Road by constructing a two lane bitumen seal roadway as shown in the plan overleaf. The project is fully funded by the Australian Government.

Works proposed

The project will bitumen seal a 2.0km long section of gravel road, linking to the existing bitumen sealed section at Wolvi. The finished road will be to an 8.0 metre wide, two lane sealed standard. The work will include:

vegetation clearing and earthworks stormwater drainage (including cross culvert upgrades) reinstatement of property accesses and road pavement widening and bitumen sealing

Council endeavours to minimise disturbance of established vegetation on its projects where possible.

Traffic management

During construction property accesses may be affected for short durations. Council officers will contact residents, where relevant, to discuss timing for access if work is likely to impact entrances. Your patience during construction is appreciated. Traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all road users.

Timing

Construction is programmed to commence in July 2018 and be completed in November 2018, subject to weather.
