On Saturday 5th of September me along with Fahad visited the bolten market in order to find out the pricing of the PVC grains that are being sold in kachi gali 2. This visit was a bit un planned but the finding out of the visit were.1. Per kg price of the pvc grains varies on hourly basis and is extremely volatile.2. The primary factors influencing the pricing of the grains are international oil price which impacts the international market price.3. The exchange rate of dollar has also got an impact as if the price of the dollar increases the import price will also be increased.4. The duties excise and taxation remains constant and are generally not varying.5. The local market demand and supply dynamics play a pivotal role in the deal making as if for some reason the demand of the specific type of pvc grain is increased having lower supply the price would automatically will be inflated.6. The major imports are carried out from Thailand, China or some even referred to KSA.7. The bigger market is present in Lahore, here the risen from engro chemical is taken and various form of grain are produced adding several additive which has an impact on the hardness of the grain and the type of its utilization i.e. what kind of thing is being manufactured from the grain.8. The price per kg of the pvc grain was communicated as 190 Rs.9. The variation in the price during the last month hovered around 10% as even with the reduce oil prices there wasnt a much steeper decline in the prices of the pvc grain.10. The grain is being sold in bags and each bag has 25kg of pvc in it.11. It is perceived from the conversation that we had with the traders that at the maximum concession they might provide on the bulk orders, the price of pvc grain might drop to 160 per kg.12. The traders were not willing to disclose the freight on board price, or inland cost of the pvc grains.13. In order to calculate such things several assumptions will be required to be taken.
