  • Descrption: A spiritual montage made by the blending of two images in photoshop.

    Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop

    Date: February 15, 2015

    Course: Comm 130 Visual Media

    Instructor: Ben Pingel

Objectives: I wanted my audience to remember that they are loved and Heavenly Father will always be there to comfort us. I also wanted to them to see that the Savior went through the Atonement so that we can find peace not only through prayer but through reading the scriptures.

Process: I chose my pictures online and I selected and put them into two seperate pages in photoshop. I used the image of the bible as the background and then I used the selector tool to put the image of Christ and the Angel comforting him. I put a mask on it to be able to play around with the effects and see what looks best. I used black and white pain and moved around the percentage of the opacity with soft-edged brush to not only paint away the hard edges but to make it more as a whole.

    Montage

  • Descrption: Demonstrate photo editing skills and photography skills. Add color in the poster with the original photo.

    Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop

    Date: February 8, 2015

    Course: Comm 130 Visual Media

    Instructor: Ben Pingel

Objectives: I wanted to make a poster for people to see and to feel better about. I wanted people to see that there is more to life then just sitting back and watching, but that there is more to it such as living in the moment.

Process: I took a picture of a puddle reflection of a tree. I went out and took pictures. I took a picture in the light, and it was a good focus. The picture turned out better than I thought it would. It was difficult because the water wouldnt stay still. The picture came to life as I was using these specific editing techniques: levels, sharpness, saturation, and color balance. I only used one text font, repeating the same colors of my color scheme I used the eye dropper tool to change the colors to match more with my color scheme.

  • Descrption: An event ad to promote a fundraiser to collect toys for children through the Toys For Tots Foundation.

    Programs/Tools Used: Microsoft Word

    Date: February 1, 2015

    Course: Comm 130 Visual Media

    Instructor: Ben Pingel

Objectives: The objective is for people to help collect toys for children whose parents arent able to afford them in order for them to have gifts on Christmas.

Process: I scanned the image of the little girl and then went into word and picked out colors from the image to use as the background and text box. I then aligned everything so that it would look more organized and worked with white space so the ad looked nice and clean. I put the title in a pink colored text box in order to capture the audiences attention. I also faded the edges of the picture in order for it to blend in more. I used the pink and purple colors to contrast and the white to stand out more.

  • Descrption: Flier to promote Vouant Communications Annual Graduate Leadership Conference.

    Programs/Tools Used: Adobe InDesign

    Date: January 7, 2015

    Course: Comm 130 Visual Media

    Instructor: Ben Pingel

Objectives: The objective is to get recent graduates to go to this conference who want to gain more leadership skills in the work-place and Vouant Communications Annual Graduate Leadership Conference is where they can develop and grow those skills.

Process: With the image, logo, and content for this flier I made sketches of the layout and then made those sketches come to life in Adobe Indesign. I made large bold boxes at the top to catch the audiences attention to the event name. I made the word Leadership the largest to grab the audiences attention and emphasize the importance about leadership. I used black boxes for more contrast and to help the flow of the flier. I wanted to make sure that there was a large picture so that it can help the reader feel more connected to the flier.

Process:1. I searched the internet for ideas.

    2. I found a few ideas and used the pen to trace the image that I uploaded on Illustrator.

    3. I played around with the text and the designs until I found where I wanted everything to be.

    4. I changed the colors to a color scheme.

    Logos

  • Descrption: I created this webpage to show the logo I created for the diamond company Shine Bright. The webpage includes my logo, the process that I went through to design and create my logo, the different color that I used and the reason I used them that would appeal to my audience, and this webpage aslo describes the web page skills that I used.

Programs/Tools Used: Text Wrangler and Google Chrome

    Date: March 15, 2015

    Course: Comm 130 Visual Media

    Instructor: Ben Pingel

Objectives: The objective message is for people to come to the Jewerly store and look at their merchandise and shop.

Process: I used the pen tool in Illustrator to create my logo. The design skills I used to create logo is that I used the complementary color scheme and I used only two different fonts/typography so it wont be too much.I tried keeping the same color scheme as my previous projects for Shine Bright. With the title I wanted to make the colors contrast so instead of having the blue be the background color I had it be the text color and I had the orange be the background color.
