women and nursing mothers in order to bridgethe nutrition gap between the recommended
dietary allowance and actual dietary inta!e in

(nder the ICDS programme, the Nutrition and
&ealth 'ducation "N&'# service is aimed to
build capacity of mothers and community to
better meet the health and nutrition needs of
children, pregnant and lactating mothers within
the family environment The !ey target audience
for N&' is all women aged between )* and +
in the $-C .urisdiction
N&' sessions are imparted by using different
methods that include regular /others meetings,health education camps 0 meetings and village
health days held by the health department, use
of mass media and other forms of publicity,
demonstration of healthy locally available food
ingredients 0 coo!ing different low cost recipes,
special campaigns, short term courses onnutrition and coo!ing for women and adolescent
girls by mobile vans of community food and
nutrition e1tension units and home visits by the$nganwadi wor!ers Such education in areas of

The chec!3ups are conducted at the $nganwadicentre "$-C# This service covers ante3natal
care of e1pectant mothers and post3natal care
for nursing mothers
(nder ante3natal services, the beneficiaries are
entitled to three chec! ups, which include a
complete physical e1amination, and are
provided with I4$ supplement tablets for )99
days Their records are maintained in /other3
Child cards and they are also given information
on diet, rest and other aspects regarding
pregnancy
(nder post3natal services, nursing mothers are
visited twice by health staff within )9 days of

total of *999 rural youths will be trained as per their re7uirement The pro.ect is being
implemented through Dr 2eddyGs foundation, &yderabad 4or the implementation of this
pro.ect funds to the tune of 2s )9999 lacs have been so far released by the 8overnment of

The National 2ural 'mployment 8uarantee $ct was notified by the 8overnment of India on
September, 599* and was made effective wef 5nd 4ebruary 599? In the first phase, the
National 2ural 'mployment 8uarantee scheme "N2'8S# was introduced in District
Chamba and Sirmour on 5nd 4ebruary, 599? In second phase N2'8S was started inDistrict <angra and /andi wef )3+3599E Now in the third phase all the remaining >
districts of the State have been covered under the scheme wef )+599>
) S$%I'NT 4'$T(2'The salient feature of the scheme is to provide for the enhancement of livelihood security of
the households in rural areas of the State by providing )99 days of guaranteed wage
employment in every financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer todo uns!illed manual wor!

The National 2ural 'mployment 8uarantee Scheme is open to all rural households
in the areas notified by the 8overnment of India The entitlement of )99 days of guaranteed
employment in a financial year is in terms of a household This entitlement of )99 days per
year can be shared within the household

$fter verification all particulars are entered in the registration register by the concerned8ram Panchayat 'very household is assigned a registration numberob cards to every registered household are issued by the gram panchayat The .ob cards are
issued within a fortnight of the application for registration Photographs of adult members
who are applicants are attached to the .ob cards The cost of .ob card and photographs is
borne as part of the programme funds The .ob card is valid for a period of * years
