Travel Group Perú 1 Day 01 Lima / Puerto Maldonado Assistance at the airport in Lima before you take your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, welcome and transfer to your lodge. A box-lunch is provided on board. In the late afternoon you set off for an introductory walk into the “terra firme” forest behind the lodge, dominated by giant Brazil- nut and Dipteryx trees. Frequently seen mammals on this trail are Saddle-back Tamarinds, Brown Capuchins, Agoutis, Pacas, Blue-Morpho butterflies, Trogons, Toucans and many other species of birds. After dinner a night walk to find nocturnal animals or insects by the eye-shine a specialization for increasing the light and see better, about 50% of the animals are nocturnal in the rainforest (shared service). Overnight at Tambopata Eco Lodge or similar. L/D Day 02 Puerto Maldonado In the morning, you and your nature guide will board the motorized canoe once again for the short journey to the trail head to begin a morning’s exploration by foot and paddle canoe of the lake system of Condenado, rich in bird and aquatic life. A family of Giant Otters lives in the vicinity of the lake and are often observed. Birds abound especially Rufescent Tiger-herons, Great Egrets, Watt- led Jacanas, Hoatzin, the noisy Donacobius and many others. Remember to bring your hat and sun cream for there is no shade out on the water. You will return to the lodge in time for lunch. The afternoon explore the forest close to the lodge (with or without your guide), relaxing and bathing in the Gallucunca, a cool clear stream beside the lodge or visit our tree platforms, going up with ropes and harnesses for a bird’s eye view of the forest and for close-ups of arboreal orchids and the many other species of plants and animals that are never seen near the ground. After dark you will go searching for caiman (alligators) and other nocturnal animals by motorized canoe along the Tambopata River. Overnight at Tambopata Eco Lodge or similar. B/L/D DAY 03 Puerto Maldonado / Cusco / Urubamba Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to Maikhana Restaurant or similar to have lunch before hea- ding to the Sacred Valley of Urubamba at 2,900 m.a.s.l. 19:00 Vegetarian Dinner and overnight at Inkallpa or similar hotel. Day 04 UrubambaBreakfast.Today, we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will visit Pisac Market where artisans from all over the area congregate to sell their crafts. Also visit Pisac Ruins, these ruins are an excellent example of how the Incas used irrigated agricultural terraces for their farming. Buffet lunch in a countryside restaurant included. After lunch, visit Ollantaytambo, a fortress built during the Inca Empire, excellent sample of military architecture.Vegetarian Dinner and overnight at Inkallpa or similar hotel.B/L/D

Day 05 Urubamba / Machu Picchu / CuscoBreakfast.Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station to take the train. Departure of the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you will meet our local guide in Aguas Calientes train station and together we will take the bus (30 minutes ride) to the Lost City of Machu Picchu to have a guided tour of the ruins (2hrs and a half approximately). Machu Picchu is eye tantalizing tribute to man in harmony with nature. It is located high above the clouds. The city’s streets, temples, and staircases spread across a jungle ridge that even-tually plunges more than 300 meters into the treacherous waters of the Rio’ Urubamba below. 13:00 Vegetarian lunch at El Chullpi Restaurant (or similar). In the afternoon, you will take the expedition train back to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to your hotel.Dinner at Maikhana Retaurant (or similar).Overnight at Casa Andina Classic Koricancha or similar hotel.B/L/D

Day 06 CuscoBreakfast.In the morning, you will start the city tour including nearby ruins such us: the Koricancha Temple (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathe-dral with its magnificent chapels and baroque altars and paintings from the Cusquenian School. The tour also includes the surroun-ding ruins: the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the Inca bath of Tambomachay, the military outpost of Puca Pucara and the amphitheatre of Kenko. 13:00 The tour will finish at Greens Restaurant (or similar) to enjoy vegetarian lunch (set menu) (drinks are not included). Afternoon at leisure. Opportunity to visit the artisans market19:30 Dinner at Tunupa Restaurant (dinner with a folkloric show - buffet service). Includes transfers round trip. Overnight at Casa Andina Classic Koricancha or similar hotel.B/L/D

Day 07 Cusco / PunoBreakfast.Early departure on private bus and guide to Puno visiting en route the colonial village of Andahuaylillas and its famous chapel, the ruins of Raqchi and PukaraVegetarian Lunch at a local restaurant will be provided.Late afternoon arrival and transfer to your hotel.Vegetarian dinner and overnight at Casa Andina Classic Tikarani or similar hotel.B/L/D

Day 08 Cusco / PunoBreakfast.Around 7 in the morning, excursion by boat to the floating Uros Islands (shared speed boat with a private English speaking guide). Vegetarian Lunch included at Casa Andina Classic Tikarani (or similar hotel).The Uros people live totally interwoven with the “Totora” reed which grows abundantly in the shallows of the lake. This way of life began over 500 years ago when the Uros built the islands in an effort to isolate themselves from the Coyas and the Incas. In the afternoon, you will visit the ancient Sillustani cemetery on Lake Umayo. See the cilyndrical stone chullpas or burial tombs built by pre-Inca civilizations that inhabited this region. Ruins located at 32 Km (22 miles) from Puno on the way to Juliaca.Vegetarian dinner and overnight at Casa Andina Tikarani (or similar hotel).B/L/D

Day 09 Puno / LimaBreakfast.Transfer to the airport for your local flight to Lima. And then transfer to a local Pizzeria to enjoy vegetarian pizza. After lunch, you will visit Larco Museum; located in a Vice-Royal mansion from the 18th century that was constructed above a pre-Columbian pyramid from the 7th century and after five years of extensive renovation. Larco Museum portrays to the visitor a comprehensive narrative of the development of 5000 years of Peru’s pre-Columbian history, making it the ideal way to understand Ancient Peru. The new museum galleries exhibit the world’s most comprehensive collection of jewellery from pre-Columbian Peru; treasures that reflect all the splendor of the ancient Andean civilization. After the tour, you will enjoy dinner at Mantra Restaurant (transfers are included).Overnight at El Tambo Hotel II or similar.B/L/D

Day 10 LimaBreakfast.Check out: 09:00 am.Early lunch and then city tour visiting the Colonial and Modern side of Lima passing by outstanding monuments such as the Gover-nment Palace, the City Hall and the Cathedral at the Plaza Mayor as well as the Cathedral. Also you will visit the modern districts of San Isidro. Transfer to Mantra Restaurant to enjoy Vegetarian Indian dinner (transfers are included). After Dinner, transfer back to the airport for your connecting flight home.B/L/D
