Coordinator Advocacy Committee (CAC)

• Includes seven coordinators (mix from large to small residency/fellowship programs) and three GME staff members.• Goals: • To build a strong leadership among coordinators at the

U of U.• Forum for coordinators to advocate for themselves.• Educate PDs and Administrators in ways to support

coordinators.• To tackle issues raised in a recent survey.

83% response rate• 12+ different job titles.• More than half expected to spend 50% or less of their

time on coordinator duties.• Other responsibilities!• High turnover. • Little to no travel support for career development.• Discrepancy regarding number of program/residents.• Often no back-up or cross-coverage.• Job dissatisfaction 37.5%• Overwhelmed with job duties 72%• Considering resignation 39%
