Sunlight for Human Development Network

We work to promote and protect the rights of children/Women/Youth and to empowerthem using international standards as a yardstick through advocacy supported by

research, awareness raising, service delivery and human and institutional development.

We are working since 2005 in Pakistan. The Sunlight HDN took its present name and

was registered with the Government of Pakistan as an NGO under the Societies ACT

XXI of 1860.

Our work is guided by international human rights principles and standards, which are

integrated at policy and programmer level.

We work according to the guidelines provided by UNCRC (United Nations Convention

on the Rights of the Child) and ILO (International Labor Organization)

We are working on the following issues in the society. Community development and Organization into CBO'S.

Community motivation.

Provision of primary health care services.

Awareness rising in community through literacy programs.

Income-generation activities.

Environmental sanitation.

Promotion of hygienic health practices.

Sunlight HDN is one of the leading, non-profit organization, wholly dedicated to

humanitarian services having extensive record of public service, providing shelter,

feeding and treating refugees, and rescuing victims.

Our dedicated services include Education for poor children, Gender issues, Reproductive

health awareness & capacity building of NGOs & individuals and HIV/AIDS. Rescue &Relief, Rehabilitation & Development, Healthcare, Community Services and Income

generation activities

Our sole aim is service to humanity without discrimination by religion, race, cast, sect,language, or political affiliation.

Sunlight HDN has also helped people affected by natural calamities like earthquakes and

floods, and in the settling of displaced persons and refugees nationally andinternationally.

Millions people of Azad Kashmir affected in Earth Quake, in this bad situation when

people of Azad Kashmir alive, younger of Sunlight HDN Pakistan & Kashmir, supported

them, and develop their life in this bad situation.

Emergency relief in the form of dry rations, tents, blankets, building materials,

medicines, medical aid, Ramadan gifts, Eid packages, Christmas gifts, Qurbani

programmes, free veterinary camps at remote locations, ambulance services and bloodbanks.

We are working towards the prevention and eradication of Domestic violence and genderbased violence in Pakistan.

We carry out workshops, seminars with women to make them aware of their rights,which can help them to fight for their rights and they can not be the victims of any kind

of violence in future.

Domestic violence in Pakistan is extremely common unfortunately. It takes account ofAbduction/kidnapping, Suicide, Honor Killing, Rape/Gang Rape, Sexual Assault, Acid

Throwing, and Stove burning. We are working on such issues in society.

Child rightsWe also work on a broad range of child rights issues, addressing the overall system and

policy framework, with added focus on specific thematic areas of special importance tochildren.

We work to tackle the issues of children like child Abuse, violation and exploitation andto provide them basic needs and their rights to survival, rights to development, rights to

protection along with Education.

We encourage Children to protect and promote their own rights.

Education Programmes:

Kachi Aabadi children got primary level education and learn cleanness, talking and howto live.

Sun Informal Education Center is providing education to the poor and needy people ofdifferent areas of Pakistan. Education to children is provided through informal schools.

Only with good education the children have the opportunity to escape poverty and bring

progress and varieties into their villages. They are also taught way to talk, basic hygienic

activities, and awareness. We worked in following locations:

Sunlight HDN also worked for Haleema Bhutto, the daughter of Sindh.

Sunlight HDN has supported:

Ladies' vocational centers

Adult literacy Women's empowerment projects

Orphan sponsorship projects

Provision of clean drinking water in remote areas

Projects on going:

Sun Home School and Women Crisis centre

Vocational Home training Centers.

Along these projects,

Awareness campaigns on violence against women and children

Campaign on Bio diesel in livelihood

Workshops on landscaping

Kitchen guarding, flower production

Medical camps in rural areas.

The philosophy of the projects undertaken by the Sunlight HDN is to serve humanity in

whatever way is possible

Ongoing projects include education for girls and boys in backward areas of Pakistan.

Approximately 1,200 schools exist all over the country.

Women Crisis CentreWomen crisis centre gave every type of assistance like free legal aid, trainings,

confidence, moral support and balance in their life emotionally.

Sunlight HDN completed its projects very successfully. Almost 50 women took training

with modern designing, cutting courses and sent their work in local market and now they

are earning and supporting their homes.

Special rehabilitation facilities do not exist for old persons in Pakistan. To provide them a

peaceful life, construction of Old house namely Mera Apna Ghar is in our future

projects.

2. Meri Apni Maa (Gynae Hospital)

In rural areas it is a common problem that no proper facilities are available towomen giving birth to babies. We need to construct a Gynae hospital for them namely

Meri Apni Maa.
