DIA – Diversity in Action

O Established Goals:O All DIA members will connect DIA Team work (social

justice concepts, DIA initiatives) to Parkway district programs and buildings through Mission.

O Reduce/eliminate the achievement gap, to ensure all students are capable, confident and curious and well prepared for future endeavors.

O DIA Leaders and Administrators will continue to implement Building Level Action Plans.

O Accomplish 2012-2013 goals set in the specific Focus Areas (i.e. HRRP, Curriculum, Parent Involvement, Professional Learning, etc.) of the DIA District Action Plan.

O Goal 5, MO4: All staff members will engage in professional learning and collaboration that positively impacts Parkway’s diverse student population.

O DIA Goal: All Parkway employees will show growth in the areas of “Sensitivity to Culture” and “Relationships” as measured by the Parkway Evaluation Plan.

Special Education Action TeamProfessional Learning

Leaders: Liz Morrison, Beth Nesbit

O This work team will identify the professional learning needs of all general and specials educators in Parkway related to teaching students with disabilities, participation in IEPs, instructional strategies, accommodations, and abilities awareness.

O This team will propose a collaborative multi-year professional learning plan which is integrated with the PLC initiative, other Parkway professional learning structures, and the professional development plan and activities of the SSD.

Survey - for both Gen Educators and Special Educators (October PLAT)

O Distribute Survey to Staff (October – November)

O Review Survey Data and Provide Input (Invite a Special Educator from your school to join us at PLAT for discussion (November PLAT)) to Special Education Action regarding the three year development plan

O 6 Salary Credits for Each Channel Change (Can NOT use to move from BA+15 to MA)

O $50 in Resources MAX per participantO Open Enrollment O Need 12 participants for the class to “GO”
