Prof. Adam Dziewonski 1936-2016 1 We are sad to learn of the death of the former ISC Governing Council and Executive Committee Chairman, Prof. Adam Dziewonski who oversaw the ISC operations and contributed to ISC success between 1991 and 2005. Adam was a top seismologist greatly regarded for the PREM model, Global CMT methodology and the foundation of seismic tomography. The last time we saw Adam was at the ISC-50 symposium in Prague in June 2015 when he delivered his invited presentation on the Application of the ISC data to studies of Earth's 3-D structure (Link). As always, Adam was happy to contribute towards the greater ISC.
