Concept

THE TITLE OF MY FILM: DRESS CODE.

MY TARGET AUDIENCE:

21-35 years old, because that is the target audience of KTZ.

Film does not contain violence, sex issues, or horror. It does however contain mild swearing at the end. It is a rated 13 film.

Summary of the concept

The concept of our film will revolve around the entertaining story of two unusual ‘it’ girls; they are enviously stylish older ladies.

In the film we will see the how the two older ladies manage to get let into the club. Before the ladies arrive on the scene, there is a long queue dying to get in to this club, but it is a very strict about the dress code so no matter what, the crowd of young people, dressed in all sorts of fun outfits, cannot get past the strict bouncer.

But the older ladies are wearing KTZ, so despite their age and average looks, the bouncer lets them enter.

The message behind our film is the it's not about the age, it’s all about the style.

2

Treatment The music plays and we see a queue of people waiting to be granted access to this exclusive trendy club, the faces of the crowd are not shown, but we can tell they are a young group of people.

Then we see a bouncer who is wearing none other than KTZ. His arms crossed and a stern expression on his face, he refuses to grant anyone entry.

We then see the guests in the queue close up, reacting to their flat rejection; they’re angry, yelling and pushing each other out of frustration. In the queue we see their outfits up close.

Everyone then turns their head as they see something astonishing. The bouncer also looks in the same direction, double glancing at what he sees by moving down his sunglasses a notch.

Suddenly there is dramatic smoke, then in slow motion we see a pair of heels emerging, the camera pans up and follows the trendy people as they casual strut past the queue and head straight to the club door, until we see the back of their head facing the bouncer who is back to acting cool.

The ladies greet the bouncer, and then walk inside the club. Then finally we get to see the ladies faces, they are not young and are very average looking. Under the flashing club lights, they dance together with style.

The camera focuses on their KTZ clothes using UV lights. The camera pans down to the dark floor and we see the ending quote “It’s not about age, it’s about style”.

3

Methodology For style and setting reference we used the film Night at the Roxbury and the documentary Advanced Style.

The scenes of the film will be filmed in two settings, outside the club and inside the club.

For the scenes outside the club there will be the usual brick wall backdrop expected at a club, there will be a barrier which the bouncer has full control over.

We will choose realistic lighting to resemble street-lights shining over the queue of people.

For the grand entrance of the older ladies there will be smoke used to add to the effect of their superior aura.

For the inside of the club, the older ladies will be dancing on the dance floor. So in this scene we will have minimal lighting.

To emphasize the KTZ clothes, we will use UV lighting to pick up the white colour, allowing the signature KTZ pattern to be elegantly showcased.

7 CAMERA & LIGHTING

Our equipment is the best quality for our budget.

The camera used for the film is a Canon 5D Mark II with a 24-70mm f2.8 lens size. For the special effects we used UV lighting, a smoke machine, Arri lights 650 accompanied with a boom arm, a barn door and frosting.

8

Art department

For the art department we wanted to create a real club setting with a brick wall.

So we used polystyrene boards and crafted it to create a lovely red brick wall.

Also the crowd needed barriers that resemble the types used generally in club queues.

So we used a simple barrier to further created realism for the club background of our film.
