Bopp & Reuther designs, manufactures and distributes
high quality safety, control and shut off valves. Our
technology ensures that people and investments are

The company C.H. Zikesch GmbH was founded in 1954 by
Carl Herbert Zikesch and rapidly developed to one of the
most important manufacturer of high-pressure valves for
conventional and nuclear power plants as well as for the
petrochemical industries in Germany.
In 1995 Bopp & Reuther
AG with headquarters in
Mannheim acquired the
entire technical know-how
of C.H. Zikesch including
all technical and economic
documents like drawings, documentations, life cycle
records of valves, company names as well as the complete
valve service with all related specialists – from the engineers
to the specialised fitters.
Since that time, the company is active on the market as
an independent subsidiary company under the name
C.H. Zikesch© Armaturentechnik GmbH. As Bopp & Reuther
possess all original technical documents, only our com-
pany is in the position and authorised to manufacture
and supply original spare parts and original Zikesch valves.

The combined network has been named Service3.
Thanks to the pooling of knowledge, expertise, technical
and manpower resources, Bopp & Reuther has been able
to provide an extensive service portfolio. We are now able
to offer our customers this overall service across all phases
of a valve’s lifecycle.
The Service³ network with over 100 service technicians,
4 manufacturing facilities and an efficient back office
provides fast and effective support and is able to be on
site quickly. We will assist you from the erection and
commissioning and continue to accompany your installa-
tion through regular maintenance and any retrofits as
may be required. Our primary concern is trouble free
operation of your facilty.
The majority of our safety and control valves have been
providing trouble free operation for decades. On request,
we can undertake the regular service and testing of your
valves, preventative maintenance based on manufac-
turer’s recommendations is the key to trouble free opera-
tion. If a refurbishment is necessary, the expert work can
be carried out on site with specialised mobile machinery
thus reducing the down time of an installation reducing
overall costs. Such work is of course supported by an
extensive control, examination, re-commisioning and a
complete documentation package.
We are a German TÜV certified test facility for various
types of valve including safety valves, check valves, gate
valves, and various control valves), for all makes of valves.

Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance on site
Our service personell are available for your needs on site and we offer an extensive service and quick response times.
During large scale overhaul operations we will identify the scope of work (valve receipt and identification, service specifications). We carry out the manitenance and repair of all makes of valves (independent of the manufacturer): Dismantling, cleaning, replacement of parts, manufacturing of replacment parts, assembly, leakage and functional tests with certificated testing facilities (e.g. TÜV). Subseqntly, we take care of the logistics for the safe and efficient return of the valves and installation and complete the necessary pro-ject and safety management and the valve documentation.
Our professional and caring team for the specific planning assures a quick and timely accomplishment of the necessary steps, global support with 24/7 availability.Our service technicians are qualified and equipped with all the necessary special tools and spare parts on-site.
This allows a fast re-commissioning of your complete system with minimum stoppage time and loss of revenue.

Scheduled Testing / Mobile Testing
Scheduled Testing
All safety valves must be tested regularly to ensure safe and correct operation. Spring loaded safety valves are sometimes equipped with additional pneumatic, hydraulic or electro pneumatic auxiliary actuators and may have additional control units which are also subject to annual performance tests in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
Such periodical tests can be carried out without stoppages or outages. These tests will not only check the safety function of the valves and thus the safety of the installation, but also ensure that the efficiency is retained by checking the valve opening and resetting characteristics
Mobile Testing
Our computerised mobile testing equipment can be
connected to both Bopp & Reuther and other valves, this
equipment has been scritisded and certified by the TÜV
as part of our quality management system.
Features and Benefits:• Test conducted during operation to avoid unnecessary
stoppage
• Performance test in situ to check safety function
• Leakage of the operating medium is kept to a minimum during the test to reduce costs and outage
• The set pressure is checked (this can even be achieved without a pressurised system under certaion circum-stances).
• Recording of the load deflexion curve and spring charac-teristics
• Test results and documentation immediately available on test completion (local printer)
Additional functions of controlled valves:• Testing of the opening and closing pressures (pressure
switch test)
• Calculation of the available forces for the actuator (opening below set pressure)

Workshop Service for Bopp & Reuther and other products
Some repairs cannot be conducted on site and need to be done under controlled workshop conditions. In our well equipped service workshop our experienced specialists can conduct a wide range of repair work. Under these conditions and with the full manufacturing facility support, your valves can be refurbished to with a complete set of documentation and warrant function and service life.
General procedures and steps for all repairs and overhauls:
• Visual control conducted by our qualified personnel
• Evaluation of the scope of work to be carried out with the associated cost estimation
• Estimate submission with clear time scales and cost break-down for customer review
• Professional service conducted in a timely manner after receipt of work clearance/notice to proceed

• Metalurgic examination (if necessary using electro miscro-scopic examination)

Refurbishment, Remodeling, Retrofitting
Utilising the latest in high temperature and/or high pres-sure technology, existing installations can be face lifted to provide increased efficiency and extended life cycles with attractive returns on investment.
To ensure that the most effective and efficient solution is chosen and applied, we strive to use as many existing components as possible after assessing their suitability and integrity to match the planned data.
Such measures and retrofits can be carried out on all makes of valves.
A modernisation can only be carried out after careful consideration of all aspects including time and investment which are all provided in our package to ensure the right decision is made.
All the above steps contribute to a complete package to enable fast and effective modernisation and to achieve the return on the investment as fast as possible.

Fast response times and a modern spare parts logistic service ensure a reliable spare parts management system where time really matters.
Our data base of project and order documentation provide us with an extensive library to quickly react to requests and orders for original Bopp & Reuther quality spare parts. Our archives go back to decades of a product’s life cycle in your plant including all overhauls and refurbishment as applicable.
We also provide an extensive supply of parts for non Bopp & Reuther valves if required.

Qualified personnel
All Bopp & Reuther service facilities have a staff of experi-enced and knowledgable personnel at your disposal.These specialists are kept at the cutting endge of knowledge and experience with continuous education and traing with updates in all areas of expertise in valve technology. All the technicians hold an SCC certification (in accordance with document 016/017) and receive regular safety training for HSE issues. The place of work can be anywhere across the globe making then experienced working in various cultures
and environments. Many of our staff are additionally quali-fied to work in hot areas of radiation.
Mobile technology, measurement and machinery
All our service technicians carry a complete set of tools as wells as any special equipment for that is necessary for the completion of the work specified. In certain circumstances where special machines are required for highly sophisticated jobs, we will send the required machinery and equipment out to the site beforehand to ensure it’s availability when the work is carried out. We have a stock of the following special machinery and associated equipment boxed in air transpor-table crates:
• Grinding equipment (gate valve seat grinding machine, high-speed valve seat grinding machine)
