VISTAMATIC® Vision Panels are privacy vision panels made up of three sheets of glass sealed as a single panel with evenly spaced, alternating lines and a sleek handle to allow privacy or observation.

VISTAMATIC® Vision Panel’s standard make-up consists of two outer sheets of 1/4” tempered glass and 5/32” annealed middle sheet of glass for a total thickness of

11/16”.

The following test results indicate that the VISTAMATIC with Black and White Vinyl is an ideal solution for creating a black-out effect where little to no light is transmit-ted through the panel. In addition, the Black Vinyl report shows that little to no UV rays are able to penetrate the Vinyl if exposed, where slightly more UV rays are able to penetrate the White Vinyl.

The VISTAMATIC with Sandblasted lines is an ideal solution to enhance natural day lighting as light is able to transmit through the Sandblasted panel. Visibility is still obscured in the closed position while allowing light rays to penetrate. The Sand-blasted lines report also indicate that UV rays are able to penetrate, if exposed.

The BetweenGlassBlinds Aluminum Blind Window is an integral blind system brought to you by VISTAMATIC. The following test results indicate that the Alumi-num Blind Window is an ideal solution for creating a black-out effect where little to no light is transmitted through the window. In addition, the Aluminum Blind Window report shows that little to no UV rays are able to penetrate if exposed.

The measurements have been performed in order the demonstrate the light transmission properties in two ways,Relative, and Total.

The Relative transmission is approximately the visible light transmission that will be provided when the observer is close to the sample and the source is more distant.

Review of ResultsThese samples of combined glass / shade materials provide different levels of transmission of visible light. The Black vinyl transmits only a very small amount of light. The Aluminum blind ‘Between Glass Blinds’ sample had a low light transmission, although, light can leer through the holes in the blinds, shifting upward the average when that location isincluded. The White vinyl sample has a low total transmission, however, in relative mode, there is a significant light transmission (≈5%)The Sandblasted sample has a dramatically high transmission in Relative mode, and significant, but lower transmission intotal mode.

rovide different levels of protection against solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR).

Samples 1, 2 and 3 provide a high degree of UV blocking; the presence of individual sample light leaking for one location each in samples 1 and 3 is likely an artifact of the thickness of the test samples.

Sample 2, White vinyl (VW) did demonstrate transmission of visible light (>400 nm) for all locations, although, only to a level of 1 – 2%.

Sample 3, Black Vinyl (VB) provided excellecnt blocking of UV and the short wave visible.

Sample 4 did not provide UV blocking above a wavelength of 330 nm, and its visible transmission was approximately 50%

STC/DB Ratings Report

The following test results indicate that the VISTAMATIC Vision Panel has an STC rating of 39. The Vision Panel tested was constructed as such: sheet of 1/4 inch tempered glass, airspace of .09 inches, 5/32 annealed glass, airspace of .06 inches, and 1/2 inch laminated sheet of glass.

The overall dimension of the Vision Panel tested was 40 inches wide by 40 inches high, by 1 inch thick and a total weight of 119.3 lbs with an average weight of 10.7 lbs/ft.

Conclusion:

Considering the thinness of standard Vision Panels, the STC rating of 39 is argu-ably a better rating than other privacy glass options on the market.

If a higher STC rating is required, it is recommended to request thicker laminated glass on both sides of the Vision Panel.

TEST METHODUnless otherwise designated, the measurements reported below were made with all facilities and procedures in explicit conformity with the ASTM Designations E90-09 and E413-10, as well as other pertinent standards. Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories has been accredited by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for this test procedure (NVLAP Lab Code: 100227-0). A description of the measuring technique is available separately.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SPECIMENThe manufacturer's description of the specimen was as follows: VISTAMATIC® Vision Panel with One Side Handle Operation (1/4 in. Tempered / Airspace / 5/32 in. Annealed / Airspace/ 1⁄2 in. Laminated). A visual inspection verified the manufacturer's description of the specimen, further disclosing a non-operable window unit. As measured with a laser glass thickness gauge, the insulated glazing consisted of (source side) a 5.59 mm (0.22 in.) tempered glazing, 2.29 mm (0.09 in.) airspace, 4.06 mm (0.16 in.) annealed glazing, 1.52 mm (0.06 in.) airspace, and a 11.94 mm (0.47 in.) laminated glazing (receive side). The internal blinds were closed for the purpose of this test.

The overall dimensions of the specimen as measured were nominally 1.02 m (40.00 in.) wide by 1.02 m (40.00 in.) high and 25.40 mm (1.00 in.) thick. The specimen was tested in the 1.22 m (4.0 ft.) by 2.44 m (8.0 ft.) test opening. A substantial filler wall was used in the remaining open area. Both the filler wall and test specimen were sealed on the periphery (both sides) with dense mastic. The transmission area used in the calculations was 1.0 m2 (11.0 ft2). The weight of the specimen as measured was 54.1 kg (119.3 lbs.), an average of 52.4 kg/m2 (10.7 lbs/ft2).

The source and receive reverberation room volumes were 178 m3 (6,298 ft3) and 133 m3 (4,701 ft3), respectively. The source room temperature at the time of the test was 22±0oC (72±0oF) and 51±1% relative humidity. The receiving room temperature at the time of the test was as 23±0oC (73±0oF) and 52±1% relative humidity.

• For all basic stops, we recommend the opening to be 1/8inch overall larger than the panel as it shouldNOT be a tight fit. For all other frames, this is dependent on the frame that is supplied.• Ensure the opening is squared.• VISTAMATIC® recommends a 5/8inch stop, as a minimum, to cover all spacers and sealants, on allproducts.• There is a 1 inch clearance from the bottom of the glass to the bottom of the handle.

1. For basic stops, fix one side of the opening. This can be achieved by screwing/nailing or silicone whichever is suitable for the project. Fit intumescent material, if required, for re-rated door or any other glazing tape you see fit (our products do not require tape).

Place the panel into the opening, if required, use packing wedges to make sure that the panel is sitting square in the opening.

Fix the hardwood fixing beads to the reverse side of the opening as described in Part 1. Fix the fixing beads top and bottom, first, and check that the VISTAMATIC® Vision Panel is functioning correctly and the fixing beads are not too tight. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you DO NOT pinch the panel, as this will stop the VISTAMATIC® Vision Panel from functioning and will void the warranty. When you are sure that all is correct, fit the side fixing beads the same way.
