Timber Veneer & Laminate Doors, Panels and Doorframes
FORZA DOORS, PANELS & DOORFRAMES
Throughout this brochure we offer an insight into the extensive range of internal flush doors and panels manufactured at our factory in West Sussex, England.
As can be seen from the door configuration diagram below (A-I) we produce single or double doors, unequal pairs and matched overpanels - all of which are suitable for fitting into aluminium, timber or steel frames.
Face finished with totally bespoke hand crafted real wood veneers or commercially available decorative laminates, Forza doors and panels will, when installed, be a perfect partner with other chosen finishes to complete a totally co-ordinated project design.
Our extensive knowledge of timber and core materials is applied when manufacturing Forza doors to meet specific performance and budgetry requirements. The core materials utilised will either be particle board, laminated softwood or specialist acoustic cores. They will be lipped with a minimum 9mm suitably matched hard wood timber section concealed by the face finish, unless otherwise specified.
Panel core materials such as MDF, plywood, chipboard or laminboard will be utilised as specified and lipped in a similar manner to a Forza door.
To enhance the distinctive grain patterns of our inhouse produced veneer layons, we apply as standard via a roll coat computer controlled finishing line, a clear U/V lacquer formulated to a 30% gloss level.
Should a tinted lacquer, a particular stain, a different gloss level for a veneer or a finish primed for on-site painting be required, then our Forza technicians are fully skilled to implement the specification.
FORZA DOORSFORZA VISION PANELS & BEADS
There are seven standard vision panels as shown in the diagram below (V1-V7) suitably fitted with glass to provide non-fire, FD30/60 and acoustic performance. Styles V3 and V5 comply with the current requirement of Approved Document M 1/M2 section 3.10h.(DDA). Other more project specific styles such as half oval or triangles are also available.
FORZA DOORS
Forza Standard beads are cloak ‘hockey stick’ and flush ‘quirk’ styles but we are able to manufacture project specific designs as required. All beads are chosen from timber specie to complement the face veneer or laminate and are suitably either lacquered, painted or primed for paint. Steel or aluminium cover beads are also available for certain vision panel designs.

FORZA PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
Depending on the required project specifi cation, our doors can be engineered to comply with FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 fi re ratings and achieve acoustic performances from 30dbrw up to 42dbrw.
STRUCTURAL & MECHANICAL
Forza doors in full doorset mode (nominal 2100mm X 900mm unglazed) have been tested in single action single leaf and double action single leaf mode and achieved Heavy Duty status. (High frequency of use by the public and others with little incentive to exercise care. Chance of accident occuring and of mis-use.)
The tests were conducted in accordance with the British Standard BS 947 and Draft for Development DD171.
ACOUSTICS
There are a number of standard Forza acoustic suites ranging from 30dbrw to 42dbrw that have been specifi cally designed to complement the acoustic performance of either solid or glazed demountable partitions.
The acoustic suite doors are available with vision panels although glass will generally lower the acoustic performance. A discussion with our technical services department is advised.

THE ART WITHIN TIMBER VENEER
The Forza staff preparing the veneer layons for our doors and panels have over eighty years’ combined experience in the selection, cutting, matching and jointing of a wide variety of commercially available timber veneers.
FORZA DOORS
Traditional skills applied by our expert craftsmen are displayed in the creation of doors and panels featuring vertical, quartered or horizontal veneers with marquetry inlays, styled grooves or applied mouldings.
Equally as important as the product we create is the advice we can offer in the selection of the veneer specie, its method of cut and how best to match the leaves.
Through the pages of our brochure and website (forza-doors.com) we share our knowledge of veneer with regard to matching, manufacturing and cuts, marquetry and inlays, fi gure types and features.
Together, we can create with veneer, an infi nite variety of styles and moods within a work or living environment that is both unique and distinguished in appearance.
VENEER MATCHING
The most commonly used methods of matching veneer leaves in the preparation of a door or panel layon are: book match, random match and slip match, as illustrated below
Forza specialist matching techniques extend not only to the less utilised methods of mismatch, quarter match or centre feature but also to project specifi c sequential matching. Here the veneer features of the individual door or panel are continued in sequence along the corridor or around the veneered area to create a perfect visual form.
Our veneer staff will consult with you regarding project fl oor plans and elevations in order that product delivered to site is clearly sequentially numbered for installation.
VENEER MANUFACTURE AND METHODS OF CUTTING
Depending on the specie of timber and the method of cut, the resultant veneer will display a unique combination of colour, grain formation and fi gure.
The skill and techniques of the Forza staff in preparing layons is to utilise the full potential of the veneers to display the specie’s distinctive decorative features.
As with the page of a book the fi rst
veneer leaf in the fl itch is turned with
the resultant effect of a mirror image
in grain pattern to the second leaf.
The pair is set aside and the same
process continues through the fl itch.
Successive leaves are ‘slipped’ from
the same veneer fl itch without turning,
jointing the left edge of the fi rst leaf to
the right edge of the second leaf and
continuing through the fl itch depending
on the required width of the layon.
Veneer leaves of the same specie but
differing fl itches are purposely mixed
to produce a non-symmetrical grain
pattern.
