Dear All,

Well we are up and running and off to a flying start.

My sincere thanks to all the staff across the school

for their huge efforts to have such a smooth

transition into the new year.

Up and Coming Swimming lessons begin next week at our pool.

Please make sure that your children have all the

paraphernalia needed to keep them sun safe and

clothed. If you are able to help with organisation

and support, especially with the littlest folk we would

be very grateful.

Induction Ceremony This Friday this special ceremony will be held in the

Institute to celebrate our young folk who have been

elected student leaders for 2014. Mr Peter Treloar

MP will be attending to present badges. Mr Terry

Barnes our CEO from Franklin Harbour Council will

speak and Kane Sincock will give a short account of

his trip to Kokoda. Awards for those students who

have achieved their Duke of Edinburgh Awards will

also be presented. The ceremony will begin at 12:00

noon. Please come along if you have a few spare

moments.

Pre-service teachers I am sure all of you will remember some of the

wonderful young folk we have had across the school

in the past few years. Next week we welcome three

more: Hanna will work in the Year 6 room with Ms.

Porteous, Carly will work in the Science area and

Brooke will work in HPE and Food and Hospitality.

Families SA Today I met with Greg Bailey to discuss some of the

changes taking place within Families SA which will

hopefully support more of our young people when

they are in need.

Partnerships Meeting

Tomorrow (Thursday) I have a meeting with our

other partner schools in Lock. This will be our first

formal meeting as a partnership so it will be

interesting to establish protocols for working

together and some of the organisational issues

schools face today. This will also be a chance to

plan our student free day suggestions to take to

Governing Council for approval.

Kind regards,

Jan Potter

WHAT IS A THEATRE RESTAURANT SHOW ?

Theatre Restaurant is an entertainment package of ‘Live on Stage’ performance of music, comedy, audience participation and fun, coupled with BYO Drinks, drinking Glass, & Supper to share at your table.

SYNOPSIS Oyez,Oyez,Oyez ! Welcome back to the middle ages ! A romantic time of fair maidens and knights in shining armour ! Well, that’s how history wants us to remember it ! BUT what really happened back then ? Come with us on an action packed romp through the unknown pages of England ! Our hero is ROBIN THE HOOD ! OUR BADDIE IS THE EVIL king john! So far seems pretty normal, But what a tangled web is weaved when the other characters enter the story ! First there’s the strange Sheriff of Snottingham, who would be more at home in a spaghetti Western, then there’s the beautiful, if somewhat silly Maid Marian. As for the Merry Men, well they belong in an asylum rather than a Forest !! So, mix all these characters in with a large dollop of comedy, blend in music and song, add just a pinch of audience participation and Voila! You have “ROBIN THE HOOD “ The music is lively, including some old and some new songs to cater for most tastes. It is recommended for an adult audience, however it does not carry an “Adults Only” warning. This is an excellent evening’s entertainment – come along and enjoy , various raffles are offered, support the Skate park Fundraising Group achieve their goal .
