They have continued to produce high quality performances in many areas, including achieving learning goals across the curriculum; in their sporting endeavours and in accepting social responsibility for a range of causes. We look forward to Term Three where we will see further development of our facilities with plans to create a ‘Friendship/Sensory garden’ well advanced. Other activities during Term Three will include Ath- letics Day, Family Life sessions (Years 5 and 6), Winter Music Festival and Waverley Eisteddfod (Senior Choir), Footsteps Ultimate Wellbeing Program (Year Four), Jump Rope for Heart, Prep Swimming, Footy Colours Day and a Whole School Expo. Many of these activities along with dates are now listed under the Compass events tab. Mid-year student reports were sent home last Friday. I would expect that all parents will take the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher or specialist teachers tomorrow, Thursday 25 th June as part of the school’s report- ing process. Teachers spend a great deal of time conducting assessments, compiling reports and using their pro- fessional judgement to provide you with an accurate picture of your child’s achievements. As well as sharing infor- mation and discussing your child’s progress, this process also reinforces the partnership that exists between school and home. The online booking facility for Parent/Teacher interviews will close this afternoon. Congratulations to: The Gypsies for their entertaining performance at Monday’s assembly under the leadership of Julian Banks. Well done to you all. Our boys’ and girls’ Hockey 7s teams who participated in the District tournament last week. The boys went through the competition undefeated and became District Champions. The girls were also undefeated through- out the initial rounds but were narrowly defeated in the final and were declared runners–up. Well done to both teams. As I mentioned last week I will be taking leave during Term Three. Dr Kim Dray will take on Principal responsibili- ties during my absence. Please note a Curriculum Day is scheduled for Friday 21 st August. This will be a student free day. School will finish at 2.30pm on Friday 26 th June and commence at 8.55am on Monday 13 th July. Have a safe and enjoyable vacation break.

Sports News

We wish to advise the school community that there is Chicken Pox in the Year 2 level.

The boys’ and girls’ hockey team went to the district hockey 7’s championship. Both teams played really well and made the finals. The boys played their best game of the day in the Grand Final and won 5-0. When the whistle blew in the girls’ Grand Final, everyone raced to the ball. Greythorn tried really hard to push the ball into the goal or at least make sure Boroondara didn’t score. Unfortunately they did score and Greythorn came runners up 0 – 1. Greythorn came to the park with a smile on their face and left with an even bigger smile. It was a great experience and everyone had lots of fun. Isaac D and Jewel M
