Principal’s Report
A huge thank you to our community in regard to our non-operational day
last week. It is so reassuring to know how well supported our school is in
making decisions to keep our students, school and community safe in
such extraordinary circumstances. Hoping for rain to assist all our
communities still experiencing such devastation. Please still be vigilant on
Bush fire safety. Have a PLAN!
Planning 2020 - As the end of the year approaches we are planning for
next year so it would be appreciated if you have any change in your
child’s enrolment or know of new enrolments for our great school please
let me know. Planning of classes, staffing and school funding is totally
relied on number of students and this allows us to be well prepared from
day one of 2020. All classes will not be set until we have final numbers.
Interrelate Sessions - On Wednesday 20th November we are hosting the
Interrelate sessions for students in years 3-6. Please take this opportunity to
attend to further build positive relationships with your child re Where do I
come from? and Preparing for Puberty knowledge. The sessions are
appropriate and child and parent friendly.
“Thank you” Afternoon Tea - Our school wouldn’t
be the great school it is without the support of our
community. We would love to invite you to an
afternoon tea prior to our final assembly next
Friday. So if you have helped in any way perhaps
you have listened to home reading, covered
books, helped on fund raising activities,
volunteered your time to teach Ethics, watered our
plants, school banking, cooked a sausage etc.
Any help has been valued and appreciated! Please join us to celebrate
the success of your contribution to another great year at Bonnet Bay
Public school.

Not Just a Brush K-6 Visual Arts Exhibition - Congratulations to our Stage 3
Enrichment group who have had their creative art pieces included in the
NOT JUST A BRUSH exhibition at Hazlehurst Gallery “Every Artwork Takes a
Journey” from Saturday 23rd November – Wednesday 4th December 2019.
The students worked on favourite books that have taken them on a
journey with a creative twist. Thank you to Mrs Follett for your guidance
and assisting the students with compiling their creations. Well Done
classes and the Stage 3 Enrichment group!

Remembrance Day
As a school community, BBPS remembered… at
the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month.
We remembered to honour the brave people
who fought and served in wars and remember
their sacrifices.
Students respectfully wore a sprig of Rosemary;
our student leaders led the school in explaining
the meaning of Remembrance Day; and our
tech team supported the assembly with a slide
show.
Well done Bonnet Bay, each of you
participated and remembered.

Cake Stall
BBPS are proudly supporting the
NSW Rural Fire Service to help
thank those who work so
tirelessly in our community.
We are holding a cake stall on
Thursday 21st November and
KLZ and K/1LC will be baking all the goodies for
students to purchase.
Treats will be available during lunchtime, fruit
break and after school for $1
and $2.
Thank you for your support of
this fundraising opportunity.
Not Just a Brush
Bonnet Bay students were lucky to participate
in the Not Just a Brush art challenge and
exhibition. We submitted two artworks, one
completed by all stage 3 students and another
completed by an enrichment art group. The
theme of the exhibition was 'Journeys' and both
artworks explored the many types of journeys
that books allow us to take in our minds.
Bonnet Bay families are encouraged to visit the
Hazelhurst Gallery from Wednesday 27th of
November to Wednesday Dec 4th to see our
creations!
Bag of Hope Donations

the Salvation Army Bag

BASC News
Children resourced their own learning through
connecting with others. The younger children
had fun making fairies demonstrating
enthusiasm creativity and persistence. Their
confidence grew as the activity progressed.
The older children showed their imagination by
designing and making their own board games.
