Principal’s Message Dear Parents/Caregivers, Welcome everyone to yet another busy week at South! School Cross Country On Monday morning, we enjoyed a very successful school cross country. The event was held at the Memorial Park/State Forest precinct. The lovely weather certainly made for great running conditions and many personal best performances were achieved by all students. All competitors are to be commended for the persistence and perseverance they displayed in completing the course to the best of their ability. Big thanks to Mr Morris, Mr Bulmer and Mrs Croker (co-ordinator) for their organisation of the event, and to the numerous parents who gave up their time to assist with the supervision and marshalling of each race. Best wishes to those runners who have qualified for the District Cross Country to be held Friday 31st May. High Afternoon Tea for our Mums On Friday afternoon, K Astronauts and K/1 Apollo spent the afternoon entertaining their mums with a terrific array of songs. The students also used this opportunity to showcase some of their quality learning. Throughout the afternoon, tea and coffee, as well as, a delicious biscuits and cake were on offer. A Day on the Greens - Sunday 26th May 2019

After the huge success of our 2018 golf day “A Day on the Greens” we are doing it again for 2019. Again it will be a four person Ambrose event, with lots of fun along the way. To make this day a success we need your help. How can you help?

Players: get your teams of 4 together and register at the Golf Club (5881 3333) - $25 per person which includes a BBQ lunch.

Donations: we need donations for prizes and for the raffle held on the day. If you know a local business that might be interested in donating a voucher or money that could be used towards prizes for the winners this would be greatly appreciated. Letters have gone to several businesses around town - apologies if I have forgotten anyone there are a lot of businesses around town. If you are interested in donating you can drop into the front office or contact me.

Or if you as a individual family would be interested in donating a small amount of money or things we

could use as prizes (golf balls, tees, hats, stubby holders, socks etc. ) it would be greatly appreciated. We need prizes ASAP - the more donations and prizes we receive the more we keep our costs down

and are able to spend more on resources for the school. Our aim for 2019 is to contribute towards

upgrades to our school playground.

Helpers: Days like this rely on the help of many for them to be successful if you are interested in

donating a couple of hours of your Sunday could you please fill out the slip below. Thanks in advance for your support. Emma Dennison
