PLEASE REMEMBER we are an ‘egg & nut free’ school: no eggs,
peanut butter, nuts or nutella spread to come to school at any
time. Please assist us to keep our students safe. Thank you.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Everyday Counts!
Reduce, Re-use, Recycle, Re-Think We don’t swear at Epping Views!
Sustainability: It’s our responsibility
STUDENT LEADERSHIP
Many of our students have been working
extremely hard on applying for student leadership
positions in our school. This process has required
students to write applications, seek out referees
and present to a panel. The Sustainability and
SWPBS leadership roles were selected using the
preferential voting system. We would like to
commend all students that applied for these
positions and we would like to congratulate the
successful students:
SWPBS Leaders
Ashreet, Slavica, Stefania, Navjot, Abbas, Nishta,
Mohammed A and Aden
Sustainability Leaders
Energy: Alara and Arsham
Biodiversity: Camila and Seechu
Water: Samuil and Victoria
Waste: Dajana and Shagun

SCHOOL DISCO
Friday night fever hit EVPS at our
School Disco. While John Travolta was
not in the house, there have been
reports that there were a number of
students attempting a revival of old
school disco dance moves. What a turn
out we had to both sessions and many
students have told us they had a great time. I would
like to acknowledge the hard work behind the
scenes of our fundraising committee who are
working tirelessly to put on great events whilst raising funds for our much needed gym. If you can
lend a helping hand, see Stacey in the office.
CANBERRA CAMP
49 students and 33 staff members have braved the
cold Canberra weather this week on our Year 6
camp. The Canberra camp is a highlight in our
camping program and offers students to be
immersed in our country’s national culture.
Students have spent time at Parliament, Australian
Electoral Commission which has been a hive of
activity the past month, as well as visiting the
National War Memorial, the
Mint and Questacon.
MATHEMATICS REPORTING
Recently we sent home some information regarding
changes to our Semester Reports in the area of
Mathematics. This year your child’s Mathematics
report will be tailored to the level your child is
working in and skills demonstrated using a checklist. After reports have been issued via
Compass, we will be seeking parent feedback.

Construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Lyndarum Drive and Dunolly Street
will begin shortly.
There will also be some minor road improvement works on Mansfield Street, Dunolly Street

The upgrade will improve traffic flow and congestion around Epping Views Primary School,
especially during busy school drop-off and pick-up times.
The construction is expected to take up to six weeks, depending on the weather, with
completion by the end of June. Traffic management will be in place, however there may
some inconvenience during the construction period. We thank you for your understanding.

Dahlia from 2MA has shown our school value of Caring. She has done this by donating her hair to Variety, a charity that supports children and their families with serious medical conditions.
“I wanted to cut my hair so I decided to donate it to the Variety Club. We put my hair in a ponytail and the hairdresser cut just above the elastic. We then put the hair in a plastic bag and sent it off. It made me feel happy and proud because I had done something that could a child’s life. Most people would not do that because they like having long hair and will not give it up”.
Thank you to Bargain Depot Epping, Campbells Preston,
Coles Aurora, Coles Epping Plaza, and GJB Entertainment for their generous donations towards our school disco.
Also a massive thank you to the fundraising committee, staff and parents who helped make
the school disco such a success!
