This is very rewarding to see.

National Sweater Day - Turn down the heat, turn up the fun! National Sweater Day is a day to help raise awareness about renewable energy and change behaviours around energy consumption in Canada. Did you know? If all Canadians lowered their thermostats by just two degrees Celsius, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about four megatons — equivalent to taking nearly 700,000 cars off the road? This year, National Sweater Day will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5. Sweater Day is a fun way for classrooms to get involved in the conversation about climate change. National Sweater Day happens once a year, so let’s make it count. Our custodial staff to turn down the heat in school building, so wear a sweater on Thursday, cozy up in the classroom and learn how your actions can help prevent climate change. Stonepark Gives Back (SGB) 2015: Stonepark is pleased to announce that its students and staff will once again be participating in SGB 2015. A school wide vote will be held in early February among the following causes: PEI Special Olympics, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Free The Children, and the Sherwood-Parkdale Lions Club. This vote will determine the beneficiary of funds raised from this year's Stonepark Gives Back. Our campaign of "80 Days to $8,000 will commence later in the month. To date, funds raised for SGB have exceeded $40,000, and we hope to crack the $50,000 plateau with this year’s campaign. There will be a variety of initiatives undertaken over the next little while, and we appreciate your support as we work towards achieving our goal this year! Pink Shirt Day: Wednesday Feb 25th is the date for National Pink Shirt Day. Stonepark leadership students we will be selling our own pink shirts for $10, with $2 from the sale of every shirt going towards Stonepark Gives Back 2015. These shirts were designed by students in Mrs. Henderson’s class two years ago, and we will be using the same design for this year as well.

Anyone looking to upload pictures for this event can do so by sending them to [email protected] or like them on their Facebook page at “Pink Shirt Day PEI”. Thanks to all involved as we promote the important message that this day brings.
