HUNTERVILLE SCHOOL

OUR SCHOOL MOTTO:

Hunterville Pride… Together We Strive

OUR QUALITY STATEMENT:

Quality Learning, Quality Behaviour, Quality Environment

OUR GOLDEN RULE:

Treat others the way you would like to be treated

We are a well-established rural Year 1 – 8 school located in the Rangitikei District with a

stable role of 175 students, seven teachers (mixture of experienced and new to the

profession) and competent teachers aides. We are a well-resourced, financially sound, rural

school with great grounds and fantastic facilities, positive and respectful country kids, an

active Board of Trustees and Home & School, along with a very supportive, involved and

friendly wider school community. Our school maintains close links to our local marae in

Rata. Approximately 20% of our students identify as Maori with most of the remaining

students identifying as Pakeha.

We are known predominantly as a Reading, Writing, Maths and Sport school but we offer

so much more. Our school grounds are substantial with plenty of asphalt area, an astro-turf

court, lots of green space, and we flank the local sports ground, swimming pool, and

Hunterville Domain. We host an interschool Cross Country and Athletics. We have an active

Sports Club which offers children the opportunity to play rugby, football, netball and hockey

in the winter, and a Cricket Club for the summer. We hold some fantastic school camps

including visits to Raukawa Falls, Mangatepopo, Wellington and the Marlborough Sounds.

We stage a major school production every second year and ensure that our students get

out and about to attend all sorts of school and education related activities, events and

learning throughout the Rangitikei and Manawatu Districts. And so much more!
