SPECIALEDUCATIONALNEEDS The MAD Museum is multi-sensory and hands-on. We encourage our visitors to press buttonsand interact with tactile objects. Within thisvenue are a wide variety of sounds, lights, movements and colours on display. These allwork together to provide an exciting, multi-sensory experience. The museum also helps with the developmentof social communication, cognitive skills andvisual memory. We installed MAD Marbles, which is essentiallya giant wall on which we ask people toconstruct their own marble runs usinginspiration from around the museum. Thisactivity encourages the exploration ofpersonal creativity, teamwork andunderstanding through what is principally arather fun, tactile game.
This independent museum is relativelysmall meaning those with emotional andbehavioural difficulties have the space tomove around the museum freely while alsonever being out of sight. Our members of staff are experienced incaring across a broad spectrum of abilitiesand learning needs. We want you to havethe best possible experience so please letus know how we can help.
