The ministries that this campaign funds allows us together as a church to reflect the light

of Christ in many ways. Please take a few moments to read this brochure to see how this happens when we work together.

Vocations and Education and Care of Priests (51% of the total CSA budget)

We see the light of Christ shine on those who are studying and discerning the call to become priests. This journey takes at least four years after completing a BA in college. In supporting CSA, you give 28 cents of every dollar to promote vocations and pay for seminary formation.

As those who are priests continue in ministry, the need to help with ongoing education as well as the need to assist with the funding of diocesan priests pensions is another way in which the light of Christ shines through our stewardship. In supporting CSA, you give 23 cents of every dollar to assist in the ongoing education of our priests and helping to fund retirement in their old age.

Faith Formation (18% of the total CSA budget)

In Faith Formation, Youth Ministry and Hispanic Catechesis the light of Christ is shown through the training and empowerment of religious education leaders throughout the diocese both in English and the Spanish languages. This includes leaders who serve all ages, from the very young, to those in youth ministry through adult faith formation. Eighteen cents of every dollar you give to CSA allows the light of Christ to shine through these efforts.

Campus Ministry at UNLV (10% of total CSA Budget)

Bringing the light of Christ to those who are involved at UNLV is a way in which the lives of those who are continuing higher education are served by the Catholic Church with campus ministry.

Pastoral Outreach (15% of the CSA Budget)

There are a host of programs that seek to bring the light of Christ into our community.Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada and the St. Therese Center provide direct service to the poor and needy; our Social Ministry brings to light Catholic teachings and opportunities for advocacy; Victim Assistance brings light into the darkness of those who have been abused with resources for healing; the televised Catholic Mass on Sunday mornings brings the presence of the church and the light of the Gospel to those who are sick or homebound; our diocesan website serves the local community as well as tourists who visit the Las Vegas valley by connecting them to the activity of our local church.

Leadership and oversight of Catholic Education (6% of the CSA Budget)

In our Catholic Schools, the Department of Catholic Education helps to insure high standards are met in the education of students in this system. Six cents of every dollar you give to CSA helps the light of Christ to shine in our schools.

The overall goal of CSA this year remains at $2,700,000. Each parish shares in the goal, and once the individual parish goal has been reached 100% of the funds beyond that goal are rebated back to the parish. Please join us as a local church in realizing “In Your light we see light,” by helping to fund these many ways in which the light of Christ is shared.

Vocaciones, Formación y cuidado de los sacerdotes (51% del total del presupuesto del CSA)

Vemos brillar la luz de Cristo en aquellos que están estudiando y discerniendo para ser sacerdotes. Este proceso es de por lo menos cuatro años después de obtener el BA en el colegio. Al apoyar el CSA, usted da 28 centavos de cada dólar para promover vocaciones y pagar por la formación en el seminario.

Los sacerdotes activos en su ministerio necesitan nuestra ayuda para obtener formación contínua y también, otro modo en que la luz de Cristo brilla en nosotros, es la asistencia financiera para el fondo de pensiones de los sacerdotes jubilados. Al apoyar el CSA, usted da 23 centavos de cada dólar para ayudar con la formación contínua de los sacerdotes y ayudar en su retiro a los sacerdotes ancianos.

Formación en la Fe (18% del total del presupuesto del CSA)

En la Formación de la Fe, el ministerio juvenil y la catequesis de los hispanos, la luz de Cristo brilla a través de los cursos de capacitación y el empoderamiento de los líderes y catequístas en toda la diócesis tanto en el idioma inglés como en el idioma español. Ministerio Universitario en UNLV (10% del total del presupuesto del CSA)

Cuidado Pastoral (15% del total del presupuesto del CSA)

Hay muchos programas que buscan llevar la luz de Cristo a distintos grupos en nuestra comunidad: Caridades Católicas del Sur de Nevada y el Centro Santa Teresa sirven directamente a los pobres y necesitados, nuestro Ministerio Social lleva la luz de Cristo a través de las enseñanzas católicas, oportunidades de abogacía, y asistencia a víctimas llevando luz a la oscuridad de aquellos que han sufrido abusos proveyendo recursos para su sanación, la Misa católica en inglés televisada los domingos por la mañana lleva la presencia de la iglesia y la luz el Evangelio a aquellos que están enfermos o incapacitados de ir a la iglesia. Nuestra página web diocesana sirve a la comunidad local y también a los turistas que visitan Las Vegas conectándolos a la actividad de nuestra iglesia local.

Liderazgo y supervisión de la Educación Católica (6% del total del presupuesto del CSA)

En nuestras escuelas católicas, el Departamento de Educación Católica se asegura de que los estudiantes encuentren en nuestro sistema de educación altos

La meta total del diezmo (CSA) este año permanece en $2,700,000.
