LOUDOUN’S NEW HOME FOR THE ARTS SETS DATE FOR GRAND OPENING

Sterling, Va. (November 25, 2014) – The Loudoun Arts Center will have its grand opening event

on Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7. The grand opening will allow current

students to showcase their artwork and class performances. It will also give prospective students

and adults the opportunity to participate in free workshops and trial classes. LAC’s mission is to

find and nurture the artist in students of all ages. The grand opening will allow us the opportunity

to expand arts education in Loudoun County and neighboring communities.

“We’re so thrilled to open our doors and offer top notch arts education right here in

Loudoun County,” said LAC’s director Josh Sticklin. “Housing theatre, dance, music, and visual

arts under one roof allows us to offer unique programming with something for everyone in the

The grand opening will feature free sample classes from multiple LAC teaching artists.

“I'm delighted to be a part of this growing arts community, where teaching artists are encouraged

to bring new ideas to life,” said Angie Chapman, one of LAC’s dance teachers. Chapman will be

offering trial classes for LAC’s dance program. LAC’s teaching artists are all working and active

artists with vast teaching experience in their fields. You can find our teaching artists performing

in local theatre productions, showcasing their work at local art shows, and singing or playing in

live performances. The grand opening will showcase classes and workshops from these

performing and visual arts professionals.

The grand opening is free for everybody and will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on

Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Loudoun Arts Center. Light refreshments will

be served starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Additionally, we are pleased to announce our

partnership with Cervantes Coffee as they hold their grand opening in conjunction with ours.
