Artistic Director PASCAL REKOERT, a native of Gouda, Netherlands, trained at Codarts (Rotterdam Dance Academy) and the High School of the Performing Arts, Amsterdam. In Europe he danced with Foundation Satori (Netherlands), Compagnie THOR (Belgium) Tempo Dances (GB), Bronkhorst & Jongewaard (NL) and Danstheater Arena (NL), working with choreographers Suzy Blok, Christopher Steel, Conny Janssen, Thierry Smits & Kim van der Boon. In 1998 he performed in The Fall, a piece which garnered acclaim as “the dance document of the 90’s”, receiving the coveted Prix de Bonheur de Rue St. Denis in Paris, France. As a choreographer Mr. Rekoert has presented his own work in theaters in Great Britain, Germany, former Yugoslavia, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, United States, Canada, and Mexico. In 2000, he created the piece Erasmus Spitzen, Crossing a Bridge on Points, which premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and is currently part of various Northern European art video collections and museums. In the Tri-State Area Mr. Rekoert's most influential project was the hilarious Burger nation, presented May 2004 at the Flea Theater NY. Over the years he locally has shown works at the DanceNow Festival, CATCH Series/Galapagos Art Space, The Flea Theater, Photographic Gallery, the Puffin Room, DUMBO Dance Festival, COOL NY Dance Festival, WAX Works, Construction Company , SWEAT at DeBaun Auditorium, Go! Dance Festival, Montclair State University theaters, Wien Theater in Fairfield CT, and Citigroup Theater at the Alvin Ailey Center, among others. Currently Mr. Rekoert is a soloist and Associate Artistic Director with Jennifer Muller/ The Works, guest artist with Hysterica Dance Company (LA), and producer of WestFest and the HATCH Presenting Series. He has taught master classes throughout the US, Northern Europe, Mexico, Bolivia, and Thailand.
