University Highlights Fiscal Year 2015 (July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015)

» Finished the year with revenues of $3.3 million less than budgeted and expenses $4 million less than budget, producing a net positive financial performance against budget.

» Tenth consecutive year that financial performance was better than budgeted.

» Received $88,000 contribution from Health Missions for Practice Based Research.

» Received $50,000 contribution from Joseph C. Smith for the Lower Athletic Field Campaign.

» Built and raised funds for the Generations Wall to recognize families with multiple generations of LIFE graduates and/or chiropractors.

» At the 2014 Fall CE event, hosted 1,600 alumni and friends on campus for continuing education classes, reunion events and parties.

» Implemented new state partnerships with the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association and North Carolina Chiropractic Association.

» Began study on a long-term, practice-based research program.

» Launched LIFE Talks — a convergence of global elite thought leaders sharing aspirational viewpoints relating to vitalistic lifestyle principles.

» Surpassed more than 4,000 alumni and friends getting engaged with LIFE activities and programs.

» Announced the development of LIFE Europe — a branch campus in Rome, Italy, scheduled to open in 2018.

» Intercollegiate women’s volleyball, as well as men’s and women’s bowling, were announced as new sports in Fall 2015.

» Hosted inaugural high school girl’s rugby camp at Life U Rugby Complex.


To New Heights

When my dedicated staff and I put together this annual President’s Report, it’s always

exciting to see the concrete numbers that validate the growth we continue to see at Life

University. What’s even more exciting, however, is seeing the numerous names of people

and companies on our donor lists — both alumni and friends — who value giving back

to our institution and supporting both the values of this University and the profession of

Chiropractic. I am humbled to be associated with all of you who continue to make LIFE

the best University for Chiropractic and vitalistic health care around the world.

Once again, a new fiscal year saw more University developments both internally and

externally. Internally, we began a study on a long-term, practice-based research program;

launched a dynamic two-day congress, LIFE Talks, with some of the best speakers in

their respective fields discussing how to apply vitalistic principles to everyday life; and of

course, added even more teams to what is becoming a diversified powerhouse of an Athletic

Department here at Life U.

Externally, we announced the development of a branch campus in Rome, Italy; LIFE

Europe is scheduled to open its doors in 2018. Here in the U.S., we implemented new

partnerships with state chiropractic associations in Virginia and North Carolina.

And although our total money amount raised was slightly under last fiscal year’s

amount, I am fully confident that this amount will grow in the next year, as all other signs

pointed to significant growth in donor and alumni engagement. In fact, our total number

of donors increased by 80, our number of gifts increased by more than 400, our State Rep

program added more than 60 new members, our LIFEforce 1000 tribe grew ever closer to

the magic number with 55 additions, and finally, and perhaps most impressive, we saw a

more than 1,250-person increase in total number of engaged alumni.

Now, what these numbers tell me is that we have a large sum of loyal alumni and friends

who see what is going on at our University and want to jump on board. However, LIFE

never accepts the status quo, and such forward-thinking academic programs and initiatives

need a future-focused following to support them. As ever, we ask for your continued

support, and for those who are not giving back, we especially need you to just take a

look at what the University is doing and ask yourself, “How can I help LIFE rise to new

heights?”
