Wel- come back from what I hope was a wonderful fourth of July holiday for all of you! The fire- works are done, the clubs are put away, the last fish-fry is cleaned up and now it is back to it! I am looking forward to this year of service and all the great things that the club will connue to do. We have some great upcoming pro- grams. Kevin Galloway and the whole pro- grams team have put together a great line- up well into the Fall. This week should be an interesng one: Lind- say Schwartz, a produc- er for CBS’ 48 Hours. 48 Hours is an American documentary news magazine that has been broadcast on CBS since 1988 pre- senng real life myster- ies and crime stories. Some of their inter- views have been used in court to convict the (then alleged) criminals. Previous anchors to the show have been Dan Rather and Leslie Stahl. Lindsay will dis- cuss the show, the pro- ducer’s role, and an- swer your quesons. I can imagine that Lind- say will have some great stories to tell us! Don’t forget that we have the Past Presi- dents’ party on the 15 th (next Saturday) at Tom Gregory’s house. Thank you, Tom for volunteer- ing to host the par- ty. The club is covering beverages (soda, beer wine) and I am prey sure we are providing a honey baked ham. The rest is potluck from club members. Looking for- ward to seeing you all there. It should be a great me! We have a new mem- ber joining us. Many of you have had the opportunity to meet Anson Thompson, who has been at our Wednesday meengs several mes over the last month. Anson splits me between Indiana and Colorado, as he has insurance agency operaons in both locales. Anson is energec and ready to hop in, so we look forward to inducng him in July. Hello, everyone! Wel-come back from what I hope was a wonderful fourth of July holiday for all of you! The fire-works are done, the clubs are put away, the last fish-fry is cleaned up and now it is back to it! I am looking forward to this year of service and all the great things that the club will continue to do. We have some great upcoming pro-grams. Denver Mile High Rotary Upcoming Programs

July 12th - Our speaker will be Lindsay Schwartz, a producer for CBS’ 48

Hours. 48 Hours is an American documentary news magazine that has

been broadcast on CBS since 1988 presenting real life mysteries and

crime stories. Some of their interviews have been used in court to con-

vict the (then alleged) criminals. Previous anchors too the show have

been Dan Rather and Leslie Stahl. Lindsay will discuss the show, the

producer’s role, and answer your questions.

July 19th - Our own Heidi Resetarits will be our speaker. Heidi traveled

to the Dominican Republic with the organization called Peace-

work. Peacework is a 501(c)3 global nonprofit organization that engag-

es communities, academic institutions, and corporations in innovative

cross-sector solutions for sustainable development around the world

and across seven development disciplines: agriculture, business, edu-

cation, engineering, health, public service, and technology.

July 26th - DU professor Andrea Stanton will be our speaker. Andrea is

an Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies at DU’s Dept. of Religious

Studies. She lived in Beirut from 2006-2008 and spent her summers in

Syria from 2002-2006. Her areas of expertise include Middle Eastern

History and Media and Politics. She is also a frequent expert commen-

tator in local and national news media.

New E-mail Address

Robin Springer’s E-Mail has been hacked and she has been forced to change her address. Her new E Mail address is published in the member directory. Please delete the address you have (make sure you erase it from your auto-fill) and update your files. She hopes to get all of her contacts from her old address so she can close it.
