Our Target AudienceOur target audience is teenagers and young

adults however as it is a Hollywood blockbuster it will attract a wide range of people from young adults to older people. Our target audience is also not gender specific.

How does your opening attract your target audience?

Our opening attracts our target audience in various ways for example by casting actors such as Jennifer Lawrence and Gerard Butler. These are actors who are very popular amongst our target audience, Jennifer Lawrence in particular who starred in the very popular Hunger Games.

Another way in which our opening attracts our target audience is by including the main thriller conventions in the opening two minutes. E.g violence, suspense, tense music etc. from our audience research we learnt that these are all aspects in which our target audience expect to see in a thriller film.

The Soundtrack:The soundtrack draws in our target audience

due to the tense atmosphere in creates. When we first hear the music we immediately learn that this is a film filled with suspense. The music starts off relatively slow building tension as it continues, then when we see the title ‘Lynch’ and the music changes to an upbeat, intense piece in which climaxes with the villain opening the door.

Audience FeedbackFrom our audience feedback we learnt that the

audience enjoyed both the soundtrack and the intense visuals seen throughout the first two minutes.

We got people who matched our target audience to view our opening and then had them speak about what they enjoyed and what they disliked.

We found out that a few people we asked dislike the fact that there was no dialogue in the opening so they didn’t get to form a solid opinion on the characters.
